June 26, 200917 yr Depends on the generation. I think it's Elvis or Mike myself. The argument for Elvis can be made because of the movies but I'm not so sure 30 years from now Mike won't be the biggest. My reason is that he was a SUPERSTAR since the age of 9. He had music through 3-4 decades that stayed at the top of the charts. His fame now will be bigger than it ever was and he was as big as it gets in the 80's. I also think he did things like break the color barrier for music videos which doesn't get talked about much. It's funny because I always think of him singing as a kid, wanting to dance like him in the 80's and not really for what he became after that much like the Elvis fans don't think of him as the overweight druggy. They both had their flaws but they are music icons! Hence why I said ''in my opinion''. I do understand your points, we just see it in a different light. :thumb:

June 26, 200917 yr AA I do not know alot about records and havn't bought a CD in years, but can't they just make another run of albums to meet the demand? Do they even still make albums? The last CD I bought was a re-mastered AC/DC Back in Black.

June 26, 200917 yr I was a fan of MJ and even went to see him in concert when Thriller came out. He was talented no doubt but became very eccentric in the past several years. I heard someone say that death comes in three's-the old(Ed McMahon), the sick(Farrah Fawcett), and the sudden(Michael Jackson)-may all three rest in peace.

Most new releases have around 5,000-10,000 vinyl copies pressed for sale.

One of my wife's friends was given a mint copy of Thriller on vinyl about a year ago. She'd never sell it because she's a diehard fan, but I still can't believe she was given it.
