I do not think she does no wrong, nor do I think she does everything wrong, name me one parent that doesnt make a mistake here and there?

 

Again, we do not know when she last had water, the mother did ask for a few drinks, maybe she was told that their wasnt time as they were ready to go on air We don't know.

 

I only watched the show a few mins a few times, I just don't like it. But, if she was June Clever the show would be off the air as soon as it came on.

Not of my own, but if you're getting ready to say "well then you don't know what it's like" or something along those lines then I should inform you that I do indeed know what it's like to have kids exaggerate when wanting something, and I do know that kids can be drama queens.

No, TBW, I for one definitely think most everything this woman does is wrong. I think their show is ridiculous and borderline abuse, with cameras in the bathrooms and zero privacy for those poor children. That being said, this particular situation is totally blown out of proportion. The only thing she did wrong IMO is take the drink in front of her. Otherwise, there was no reason for the girl to get a drink at that particular moment. Like I said before, the whole thing could have easily gotten out of hand, with water spilling and others having to go and pee, etc. Also, who knows how long they had to wait before going on tv? I don't defend Kate for much, but I will in this situation.

I deny my kids stuff all the time. I can't wait until we see the RED RAMBLER DENIES SONS CAKE FOR BREAKFAST you tube video to come out.

God, I hate this show! It's not reality, it's to see how much of a free ride from the producers they get. I wish they would cancel the show, and let them get along on their own and pay for stuff out of their own pockets.

And, of course, you and I aren't saying that Mady is bad or anything (before someone jumps on us) - just that everything is a crisis for her. I've watched the show for many seasons. I'm not a fan of Kate. Heck, I'm not really a fan of Jon. But it has been interesting watching the little ones grow up.

I don't have kids myself, but as a teacher, I see a lot of parenting, both good and bad. One of the worst things is exactly this - immediate gratification. Kids want what they want and they want it now. It's easy for parents to not fight the fight and just give in. I would say that in a situation where you have 8 kids, the parent HAS to be in control or chaos would ensue.

 

One family that went through my school and I was able to see over a period of years graduated a son in 2001, one in 2003 and a daughter in 2008. Normally, I would have these kids anythere from 3-5 science classes over that time and then be involved with them in sports activities. At their last parent-teacher conference (they never missed one!) I asked them how they managed to raise kids that had the character, integrity, humor, compassion and desire to achieve that they did. The kids really were exceptional and I was sad that I wouldn't have any more of them in class in the coming years. The mom and dad looked at each other and said, "well, you know that we aren't rich. We've never been able to give our kids new cars when they turned 16 (each kids drove a 1960-something Nova, which they lovingly called the "novacaine" :lol:), buy the $100 shoes or the latest iPod. But we've always taught them that they are worthy of our love, even if we couldn't take care of all of their wants. We did take care of all of their needs - love being the most important." I'm sure that there are 1000 little things that they did along the way to develop them into great people, but that was the basics.

 

These kids would NEVER have whined for water one minute before an interview. :lol:

I am sure this too will be blown way our of proportion. I must be a bad mom, I would have done that too. Here is why. As soon as she would have let one have a drink...they all would have wanted one and it would have been a disaster come time to be on air. Now I don't think she should have taken the drink in front of her since she was thirsty. But she was the one that would be doing all the talking in the interview. And you clearly hear her say, that when the interview was over they all were getting drinks. Everyone is just looking for the stupidest things to say about this family now. Simply denying her water till the interview was over is not wrong.
