Derrick Rose Comments on Gang Sign Pic.

Featured Replies

I will meet you in the middle...the sign that T-Will throws up is very consistent with a blood sign and "could" be construed as such.

Fair enough... You don't always have to assume the negative. :thumb:

You read the initial post I quoted, correct? Tell me how that wasn't negative...

Or maybe it was because a made three pointer called for three fingers? Why does it automatically have to be gang related? If they were white, would it be gang related?

Was it cool when Ramel Bradley threw up "The Rock?"

Yes, throwing up gang signs will typically be associated with gangs. If he was white, we'd probably just laugh at him but still think it's a bad decision and still gang related. However there are some pretty prominent white gangs, but not so much in the Chicago area.

You don't think the Disciples have rival gangs? Have to look at it from both sides, what better way for another gang to make a big name for themselves than to off someone who is "affiliated" with a rival gang. Not saying it will happen, but it shows how dumb throwing up a gang sign like that can be.

I didn't think about that, but I still don't think it's a real problem for him.

GDN counts Bloods, Vice Lords, and Latin Kings with others, among it's rivals, so it is possible it could be a problem.

I don't think it will though. I don't know if a gang would take that seriously.

I agree it probably won't, but when you're famous you already have a bit of a target on you, why make it bigger or more appealing with something silly like this pic, especially if you could care less about what it represents. Just not a bright move.

That wasn't negative. It was LABS stating an observation that he had made. He didn't call him a gangster or anything...in fact, he implied to opposite.

To me, this is a non-issue, and I really see no reason for him to be issuing an apology. :idunno:

Same here..

Who cares.. IMO

Just because the NBA fines someone for doing something doesn't mean it is wrong. The NBA front office isn't the brightest. People are fined for complaining about the refs but it isn't wrong.

I don't like U of L or know all the facts but I still wouldn't put much stock in what the NBA front office does.

Looks like Rose is playing the part of a poser.

You see it from time to time on the floor.

From T-Will throwing up a "blood" sign on made threes to Stromile Swift with the interlocking thumbs, which is a gang sign, for which one I dont know.

All posing, don't think any of them would be serious about it...

But why do it? Why give that undesirable type of life any credo? I just don't get it.
