I upgrade him from being the best player in the region to the best player in the STATE! Don't understand why Timmy doesn't get the respect he deserves for being one of the best this state has to offer. The Lions will be right back in the hunt next year if the Ison kid improves some and the point guard situation is taken care of. Remember they will start two kids with height of 6'8 and 6'6 next year--impressive for high school ball!

T. Knipp picked up his first D 1 offer from Tenn Tech after a couple of 40 pts games in their team camp this past week.

C'mon now Mr. King. I think its pretty obvious that this exact thing happens everywhere in America. When teams are really good, most people jump on the bandwagon. While Elliott Co.'s fan base wont be as good as in the past 4 years, they will still have a very good following next year.

 

Now as far Elliott Co. goes, I think they will be just fine. I honest dont even know how anyone other than the people that have sat in on Elliott Co.'s practices (which is several) or have watch their JV team play on a regular basis could even form a fair opinion about next years team. My opinion is, they will be a top 3 team in the 16th region next year and you could very well see them playing in Rupp for the 4th year in a row.

 

Now lets get to Mr. Knipp. I don't think there is anyway you can say he is not one of the best 10 players in the state next year. He has been the most consistant player on the probably the best AAU team in the state, regardless of age, in the Derek Smith All Stars 16u team. Like I have already stated, he just picked up his first D 1 offer after a week at Tenn Tech where he scored 40 on one of the state championship(not sure which class it was). He strength is much improved from last year and he is flourishing in the role of "being the man" if you will. I expect Knipp to be the most highly recruited player in the class of 2011 due to his size, skill level, and potiental. Look for Knipp to have a great junior season.

If he is that good why did he not play some off the bench at Rupp. Elliott basically played the 5 starters the entire game.

It would have been hard for him to play at Rupp with a broken ankle, but had he been able, I think he would have done fine. If I remember correctly he played (and scored) in Elliott's first trip to Rupp (as an 8th grader).

I don't think he is that good, granted I haven't watched much of him, but I doubt he will be as good as Ethan, Evan or Jon Ferguson. Developing a Point Guard is critical for Elliott County's success.

Nickell will handle the ball better than Ferguson.

Tenn Tech gets an A for effort but the have about as much chance signing Timmy Knipp as hitting the lottery! Knipp we go to a high division one school and would expect Coach Cal to make a stop in at the Penny Mart soon!

A lot of players have played and scored not maybe as an 8th grader but still players get in at the end and get a bucket.

He may end up high division one but he is not there yet.

From what I have heard this years team will be better than last years. My source says Nickell, Knipp, And Faulkner will be as good or better than last years trio. Ison will be stepping in where T Knipp was last year and some Fraley kid will be better than the older Knipp was. Looks like the EC fans may be doing a 4-peat.
