I think that he's right up there with the tops in his class. And I have seen him play for many, many games. Not just high school, but AAU as well.

Same here. I want to see what he can do this year, when he will be the main go to guy.

For those who claim he isn't the best I ask how many times have you watched him play? Timmy Knipp could probably play all five positions on the floor, at his height who else in the state could do that. His jump shot is fluid, mechanically sound handles the ball good and can go down low to dominate by blocking shots or altering many! This kid is the real deal and like I stated earlier he doesn't get the needed respect he has earned!

I think that most folks agree he is a terrific player with huge upside. But to say he didn't flourish in part due to the other 4 on the floor last season would be a half truth. I think without the 4 seniors from the repeat defending champs, Mr. Knipp will prove whether he deserves the respect you are bent on lobbying for.:thumb:

Only in America, baby!

I watched them play at the Cov. Cath. team camp this past weekend and Knipp struggled getting the ball up the floor against the Colerain team. The press completely destroyed them. The other players just watched and let him do whatever he was going to do. He's not a point guard but was forced to play it because of lack of options. Elliott will have to develop a supporting cast forcing opponents to concentrate on more than Knipp. From what I saw, they have a long way to go.

TK will be the best player in the region, and one of the better players in the state if he can improve on several things, mainly post defense and getting a little tougher mentally and physically. I'll agree with McPapa, Elliott will need a guard to emerge next year for EC to make it even to Morehead for the Region Tourney.

Knipp is a very good player and probably the best in his region but saying he's the best in the state is getting a little ahead of ourselves.

His all around game is no where near as good as players like Ge'Lawn Guyn, Chad Jackson, Josh Sewell, Ricardo Johnson, Elijah Pittman, or even George Fant. Let's also not forget about Chane Behanan who will be at Bowling Green next year and very well could be the best player in the state as a junior.

Knipp is one of the best in the state for his class, but his defense will have to improve tremendously to be considered the best. He got abused by Elijah Pittman in the state tourney. Now that doesn't mean Knipp isn't a good player, but just shows he has a lot to work on to be considered the elite player that some are hyping him up to be. This season should tell a lot about Knipp's game. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he progresses over the next two years.

Abused by Elijah Pittman? I think many would agree he more than held his own and the only agruement with this would be Knipp's slight build but as the kid gets older things will balance out in that regard. I would have to say his defense is his greatest asset: he either blocks your shot or alters it with all the while getting inside your head the whole game. When Ballard came to Sandy Hook their kids where scared to death of Timmy after 10 minutes of him sending their shots everywhere. No way is Guyn or Jackson ahead of Timmy Knipp!

I can't even begin to express how I diametrically disagree with that statement. I will however, wish Timmy and Elliott good luck this season as we try to reel this thing back into the discussion of Elliott this upcoming basketball campaign. We can open another thread if you wish to debate the merits of Mr. Knipp.

At the CovCath team camp.. was the entire Elliott team there? I would have assumed that Cody Nickell would be running the point position. Knipp is no point guard. Nickell is one of the better ones to come through the school. I don't think there will be any problems in this position next season. Cody will need some support though. I can't wait until November!

As stated before Cody Nickell is the key for Elliott and I totally agree along with Faulkner and Ison. With Knipp there is not alot of unknown and but with the three mentioned before there is. Just don't overlook these boys or Mr. Knipp because the cupboard is not empty and the map to Rupp has not been thrown away in Sandy Hook!

Good! The regional representative would appreciate your support at Rupp just like the rest of us went to support Elliott the past few seasons.:thumb:

As good as the Faulkner boys?

If he is that good why did he not play some off the bench at Rupp. Elliott basically played the 5 starters the entire game.

He was on crutches at Rupp.

I don't think he is that good, granted I haven't watched much of him, but I doubt he will be as good as Ethan, Evan or Jon Ferguson. Developing a Point Guard is critical for Elliott County's success.

Elliott should be okay. I don't remember all that East has coming back, but West lost quite a bit and will be very green. I don't really see them as necessarily being ranked aboved Elliott to start the season.

T Knipp is one of the better players in the state, just not the best IMO. He has the potential to get there though.

T. Knipp picked up his first D 1 offer from Tenn Tech after a couple of 40 pts games in their team camp this past week.
