I didn't say that it was correct, right or even the way I think. I am just saying that is how it is. After Pearl harbor we (as a nation) viewed the Japanese in the same way. I was just saying that is why it was said on here that Muslims corner the market on terroism. I was brought up with the mind set that 2+2=4. I try never to judge anyone on someone elses behavior, just because one referee crew is blind doesn't make me go into the next game mad at the crew for that night. But the bottom line is that the basic generalization is that all refs are blind. I hate to say it but that is human nature, to make generalizations and stereo-types. The link provides a list of "significant terrorist incidents" from 1961-2003 prepared by the U.S. Department of State. Shockingly, a large % occurs in the Middle East. Another shocker is that there were actually terrorist attacks being perpetrated around the globe prior to January 20, 2001. Who'd a thunk?

I respect everyone's religion. I just think that saying shouldn't be president based on their religious beliefs is wrong. I mean don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Do you think people knew Jefferson was an athiest when he ran for office?

 

With the bolded part are you saying that other religions are wrong, or that they may be wrong? Honestly, we will never know until we die. Please clear that up for me because to me it doesn't sound like you respect any religion besides christianity.

 

I'm not sticking up for one religion, I'm sticking up for them all. Why? I don't think any one religion is completely right. Not one. Written down by man, corrupted by man.

 

I believe that their is one god. I believe that there is a place we can go when we die, heaven if you must. I believe that to get there you have to accept god and live as best you can. I believe that even if Jesus wasn't the son of god (i think he was btw) that he made a great sacrifice in the name of God and humanity. That is the only way I can truely be happy. I worry about myself and my family and go on with it. If our president wants to worship any other way that is fine with me.

 

I will say it like this, I respect everyones right to choose whatever religion they want. I truley think that all religions are man made. I trhink that the Bible is the word of God and I think the King James Version has stood the test of time because God wanted it to and that we as children of God should try to follow his word to the best of our sinful abilities. I am not Babtist but I attendend a Babtist church for several years because the preacher preached from the KJV of the Bible and used said scripture to back up his message. This fed me scriptually and spiritually and brought me closer to God (which the Bible says it will do). but, the only way I could be a member of that Babtist church was to be re-babtized because some group of men at sometime said that is the way it had to be. Needless to say I never was a member because I follow, excuse me, I TRY to follow the word of God not that of man. So, to finish answering your question, I do not have respect for mans religion I only respect the word of God. With that being said, I have to disagree that to go to heaven you only have to accept God and be agood person because the word of God says "the only way to the Father is through the Son" and that you must accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and be washed clean (of sin) by his blood. Everyone knows John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perrish but have everlasting life. To add one more thing, I try to love everyone as a brother or sister because hate only breeds hate and I know that that gets hard sometimes (especially of Friday nights) and that is one of the reasons I pray as much as possible. My opinions on here are just that, my opinions and I give my opinions based on my faith. To me this is a testemony and I hope it gets someone to study the Bible and maybe they will eventually accept Jesus as their savior. No, when I hear "terrorist" I certainly don't automatically think of someone middle eastern. Some of you may be too young to accurately remember the Oklahoma City bombing. Timothy McVeigh's photo is etched in my own personal dictionary beside the word "terrorist. However, letting his image be my only one of a terrorist would be just as short sighted as thinking of a terrorist as only someone from the Middle East.

The attack on 9/11 did not include explosives. The steel that failed (which led to the collapse of the buildings) was a result of high temperatures due to the combustion of the jet fuel. From a chemical standpoint, combustion is not the same as explosion.

 

If you want to call the burning of the fuel a type of "explosion" then you will get no further argument from me. The buildings fell to structural damage due to the fires, however, not as a result of explosives.
