Meeks projected 44th pick after Draft Workout Camp

Featured Replies

per Draft Express.

Here is a link to all the stats, and all the projections. Interesting to note that Meek's was one of the three fastest players in the workouts, and T Will was one of the best leapers (we kind of knew that). Basically everything done at the camp is recorded in this link.

A handful of GM's have brought Jodie in with a group of guys they're said to be looking at taking with first round picks. However, Jodie always seems the most unlikely selection of those players unless they were all drafted first (which isn't happening). An example is the 76ers, who interviewed Toney Douglas (FSU), Ty Lawson, T-Will, Stefon Jackson (UTEP), along with Jodie for their 17th pick. It is likely all players will still be there at 17 (one or two gone at the very most) and all other than maybe Jackson would be selected before Meeks.

So this leaves a tough situation. As a Kentucky fan and with blue blinders you can look and see that the signs are almost apparent that Jodie will fall into the second round. However, the GM's, management guys, and coaches are all keeping Jodie pretty well pleased and with the general idea he is first round material. I just hope Jodie makes the best decision he can for himself, and that he has the right kind of people in his ear. If he does go pro I support him, but I would love to see him back at Kentucky. I know this has to be such a hard decision on him being this is viewed as a week draft class, and he feels there is probably no way he can match last years stats. However, coming back gives him a chance to play on a good team and fine tune skills such as his ball-handling. Again, I just wish Jodie the best and hope he does what he thinks is best for him and not someone else.

Whats that? He averaged 24 points a game this year. He seemed to have pretty good scoring instincts. Other than that it looks fairly accurate.

I agreed with everything in the scouting report except the con of 'average athleticism'. Meeks is an exceptional athlete. Other than that, the scouting report, pros and cons, were dead on IMHO.

I do agree that they seem to have faltered leaving off that he makes 'violent cuts'! :D

Definitely one of his strengths.

The assessment seems pretty on the money w/Jodie. I also think that this kid is an excellent athlete so I would argue the "average" athleticism and I would also argue that the kid has a tremendous work ethic and a huge heart. Both are intangibles you cannot teach and that can help at the next level!

He can score, but he does not get his teammates involved. Not many assists in college.

It was kind of hard to get your team mates involved when they don't look to score. As a rule most 2 guards are not assist men.

The position is called "shooting guard" for a reason.

Great link...was anyone else concerned that the "consensus" #1 pick has a best case scenario of Antonio McDyess and worst case of David Lee? #1...wow? And Thabeet? LOL.
