You should be proud of him. Although his basketball career at UK may not have been as successful as he would have liked, he represented Bowling Green and western KY with tremendous class.

 

He sure did. One of the rare times when I actually rooted for UK was when he was on the team.

I'd say Chane is probably the better low post player offensively but Elijah is the better all around player...being able to play both inside or out.

Better all around? No way. Chane is much better on defense and on the glass. The only thing Pittman has on him is a perimeter game...

Remember, though, there is a chance Chane stays in Cincinnati when his mom moves...

I saw where several coaches who have coached against him compared him to Bill Walker...would you say that's a fair assessment of his game?

There has been recent Internet speculation about Aiken basketball standout Chane Behanan and his commitment to UC. I just spoke with Aiken coach Leon Ellison and he said Behanan is still orally committed to UC.

 

Also, Ellison said Behanan is expected to still be at Aiken next school year. Ellison said there is a "slight chance" that Behanan could transfer, but the Aiken coach declined to comment further.

Take it for what it's worth but my buddy played pick up with Chane in BG over the weekend and kid said he was moving!

The family has moved to BG, and Chane is there with them. All signs point to him playing at BG next season...

That'd be true of a lot of teams anyway, but really, Bowling Green was nothing special in my eyes this season, so it's not a surprise to hear that. I expected BG to be in the 4-7 range in the region, Behanan will likely make them 1-3 on his strength alone.

Behanan made his debut yesterday, participating in some summer games against Franklin-Simpson. One thing I saw a lot of was giving Chane the ball and then watching. I'm sure they'll correct that, but it's only reinforcing my belief that the supporting cast is not the best and that they're going to expect Chane to do it all.

Saw Chane play a few times this weekend at the Ohio State AAU tournament. He led his team to the 16U title and then played up against Adreian Payne in the 17U title game and he man handled Payne holding him to 4 points. Chane scored 12 to go with 8 boards, 2 blocks (including one where he came from behind and pinned Payne on the glass) and 2 steals. He looked really good this weekend...

Sounds like the ole "throw it to Chane & watch him ball" trick might work out pretty well. :lol:

I saw him play for about two quarters, and it's clear he's a great player. He scored ten points, had a nice alley oop dunk, hit a few outside shots. He's got a very nice stroke. He didn't really post up a whole lot, which was really the aspect I wanted to see most. He shot the three, which I really never like from a player like him at this level. That's not really the shot he should be taking, especially if he can/should be getting easier shots closer. He didn't hit any of the threes he attempted. I thought he was a little lazy on defense, but this is summer stuff, which players don't take nearly as seriously as either regular season games or AAU stuff. I was impressed with his ball handling ability, and they had him bring it up the court probably 80% of the time. You can see he's going to be dominant when he wants to be, because most teams won't have a player that can guard him effectively. And physically, he is incredibly imposing, though not as imposing as I expected. I remember that he's supposed to be a sophomore, so I'm sure he's going to get bigger, but physically I didn't see a lot of difference between him and Fant at this point. But his game is far more complete. George will have an incredibly hard time if he's asked to guard him on the perimeter, and George doesn't have the outside shot, which means he's going to have to figure out how to get over his aversion to contact.
