It should be an exciting tournament. I hope to be there for some of it anyway. Good luck to all participants. I really think Nicholas has a chance to make it to the finals. With all the adversity they have been through this year that would be quite an accomplishment. Good luck to my Thorobreds. And you are right Gravedigger, the Camels can't be overlooked either.

I dont believe so because J. Martin or Dailey would have pitched last year and done a fine job. But the past is over and we should focus on this year. Good luck to all teams in the tournament. It should be a good one.

You might be right Harrison County might win it this year. I do think however they might not be as lucky this year as last year weather wise. Last year because of rain the region got pushed back a little I believe and their Ace pitcher was able to pitch in every Regional game which definately helped them. I am not saying they don't have any pitching this year I believe they do because it is Harrison County just don't know if they have anyone as strong as the kid from last years staff.

I think if they pitched anyone else but the Martin kid last year in the Championship against Scott they probably lose but who knows it is baseball and anything can happen.

Scott barely gets past Calvary in Districts this year but they do and go on to defeat Campbell County in District Championship.

It will all be sorted out by Thursday next week good luck to all and let the games begin.

Mynear throws against Mason. You have to play to win and not the hope we can get by without having to use the ace.

No way... Workman will throw against Mason. You have to play to win the tournament, not make it to the semi's.

You also can't win the tournament by losing in the first round. Not saying Mason Co. will beat them with either on the mound but if you go home without throwing your ace then shame on you.

Mason County won the early regular-season matchup 11-10. I was there, but for the life of me I can't remember who started for either team.

How do you get to Scott High School coming from Bracken County? Have never been there. Are there facilites nice, good parking, etc.? Thanks for any help.

I was there for a basketball game in the 2007-08 season; pretty easy campus to find.

AA to I-275 West

Exit 79 - KY16

Left (south) on KY16, go about half a mile

Right on Old Taylor Mill Road, about 2 miles to the school

The facilities are pretty nice. Nothing too spectacular but not poor by any means.

There should be plenty of parking that is close to the field as well.

PS - as I recall, Old Taylor Mill is a winding road that goes through a wooded, residential area - so don't think that you're headed the wrong way. These directions should get you there.:thumb:

Nicholas will throw Campbell for sure. And if the curve is on for him could be a long day for the Royals. That leaves Mynear and Workman for the semis if Nicholas is able to advance.

Conner Osborne and Dylan Whitehead pitched for Mason County. Two freshman that mainly pitched JV throughout the year.

I've always had the philosophy "don't worry about the draw, you eventually have to play the best to be the best." However, it is so much different in baseball, where setting up pitching rotations is critical.

I totally agree with this statement and feel if a coach sets up his rotation the right way and you dont have to use two or three starters in a game to advance, a coach sets his team up for the best chance to win a championship.

Is this Kyle Campbell that stars on the basketball team? Isn't he just a sophomore? Does he play football also? Seems to be a big time athlete at Nicholas County
