Jon & Kate plus 8

Featured Replies

125K? Jeez. Well, who am I to cast stones as Ms. Gosling? That is a load of cash - and the future could be expensive as a single mother with eight kids to support. Jon should go along with it. Less child support to pay down the road.

That is what a friend told me that has worked for Viacom and has worked on some reality shows.

It was 85k the first year he knows for fact, 125k is low end he thinks now.

I wouldn't normally agree about that but she really is. But I really feel for those beautiful babies.

I agree .... You have to feel for those innocent kids.... Jon and Kate ..get a grip and get your priorities straight. GEEZ !!!!! :irked:

I don't doubt that number one bit. He quit his job, and they bought a million dollar plus home. So, there's no doubt they're making a nice bit of cash with the show.

HB- and I hope you don't think I'm picking on you, because I sort of agree with both statements- it is the mentality that we Americans have that we love to watch things crash and burn that have caused these so-called "reality" shows to be wildly popular. Every single one of them has an episode climax with someone throwing a humongous hissyfit, and the question that remains is whether the TV has conditioned us to be that way, or if it is just "art imitating life", revealing our desire to watch things go up in flames.

Now I can step off my soapbox.

Well I hope you aren't picking on me, because I was just kidding.

I despise nearly all reality shows. The only one that I can think of that I watch regularly is "The Ultimate Fighter" and I hate certain parts about it. I would love it if they would show nothing but training, and fighting. But they show extra fighting and shenanigans in the house. I understand why, but I don't like that aspect.

I hate nearly all other reality shows. I do like that "The Soup" makes fun of them though.

I truly wish that we could reverse the direction that tv is going. The main reason that all these "reality tv" shows are on the air is the $$$$$. I mean, look at Survivor. They pay out 1 million to the winner. How much would they pay the stars of a tv show per episode in that same time slot????? Way more than a million per season. Until we quit watching, they will keep coming up with even more stupid things to watch.

NEWS FLASH, don't go on national TV and be mean to your old man, if you do, hot women that are younger and nicer will feel sorry for him, and dig in those claws while you are at home raising 8 kids!

:lol:. They know how much jack is being brought in from the tv revenue!

I have quit watching.

I refuse to watch Survivor (because I think it's terrible), American Idol, Flavor of Love, I love Money, A shot at love, the Rock of love...

Those are the ones I can think of right off. And I only know most of those because of The Soup. Anyone watch the soup? It's hilarious.

I am with you on everything but Survivor. I guess because of the joy of watching them suffer and doing the challenges.

The Soup is something I watch every week to destress. Man, it is good.

I don't even watch The Soup, although you and many others have expressed how good it is. Back to reality tv, I don't get it. What is the fascination with other people's lives and watching a dating game (Flavor of Love, Bachelor/Bachelorette.....). We are a dumbed down Nation.:puke:

Support PBS!!!!!!!

Kate or the other girl?

Do you think her kids will grow up to resent her for pimping out their childhood.

I would wager there will be issues for all of them in that regard. Let's not just paint her in this picture though, Jon agreed to it too.
