The wife and I are lookin' for something that is within a 6-10 hour drive from Northern Kentucky that is fun for the whole family? Been to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, Myrtle Beach, Niagara Falls, Pro Football HOF, Rock & Roll HOF, Indianapolis, Columbus.

Any ideas??? Any help would be appreciated!!! I know there is plenty out there and I like to hear from people!

I agree. 2 of the best vacations we took were to the Outer Banks and to Louisiana. On the way to the Outer Banks we stopped and toured Ben Franklin's home place. On the way home from the Outer Banks we went to Duke and got to go inside and see Arena...awsome. Then on to Mouth of Wilson to see Oak hill Acd.

We took our son to Dale Browns basketball camp at LSU. On way back went to New Orleans and Gulf Shores Alabama.

Did you get to see the inside of Oak Hill's gym?

Yes and they gave our son a Oak Hill Tee shirt....at the age of 15....this was his favorite.

I played there in 1995 and it was a great experience. Their gym is like a hall of fame. That is one of the great experiences in my basketball life.

The Port Clinton/Sandusky area of northern Ohio makes for a great family vacation. Sandusky has Cedar Point, a much better amusement park than Kings Island IMO. East Harbor State Park along the shores of Lake Erie has some very nice family friendly beaches that are awesome. Marble Head Light House is something to visit. Doesn't cost anything, but it's one of those things that will stick with your kids. It's not everyday you can walk right up to a real working light house. There are several dairies in the area that give tours of their ice-cream making facilities ( I recommend Toft's). Sandusky has a lot of shopping and eating that would remind you of a sea shore town rather than a town in the midwest. There are some great seafood places in Sandusky and Port Clinton. You can also take a ferry out to Kelly's Island and Put-In-Bay. On either of these islands you can rent bikes and do a lot of sight seeing around the islands. And Lake Erie has some of the best walleye fishing you will ever find. There are numerous charter services that would be happy to take your money.

Chicago is a pretty cool city - especially this time of year.

Sports lovers can take in a Cubs or White Sox game. Animal lovers should visit the aquarium that overlooks Lake Michigan. Go to the top of the Sears tower and look at the skyline. Excellent museums and cultural places. Take your wife to an Opra show. Take a boat ride down the river and learn about all the Chicago architecture. Take your daughter or wife to the American Girl store. Etc.
