I enjoy watching him play and it looks to me,Kobe having fun too, and I like that.

Didn't his own coach call him selfish in his book? It has been a long time since I read it, but I do remember it not being flattering to say the least.

I would like him, if he played for someone else.

His own coach also came back to the Lakers and has allowed his relationship with Kobe to continue growing. They seem to be getting along just fine now.

In LAST years finals he was better than Kobe.

 

And Ray Allen was better than Paul Pierce in the Finals but he gets no credit for how great he played in the Finals. Ray Allen was the true MVP of the finals last year.

 

Had Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom not completely disappeared in the Finals, there would be a different story with a different ending. Those two let the Lakers down in the Finals, not Kobe.

Kobe does direct everything for the Lakers. Just as trades are made to appease LeBron, people were added for Jordan, etc.

 

Bolded part is what I meant. I see Kobe as the kind of guy who will play well into his 40's still thinking he can dominate. I see Kobe as the kind of guy who would be furious with LBJ winning the MVP, the guy would rather have 50 points than win.

 

I don't not like Kobe because I'm a LeBron fan. I don't like Kobe because I don't like how he portrays himself. I hate the fact that he couldn't get along with Shaq, when many players would give 5 years off their careers to play with a dominant force like that and win titles. I hate the fact that those 3 titles are what separate KB from LBJ, because give LeBron any legit top 50 player all-time, especially a Center, beside him he would win championships from now until he got to old to dominate. LeBron wins the title if he's on the Lakers last year, instead of Kobe.

 

I sincerely doubt Kobe will even be able to physically play past the age of 36. He has currently played 193 games in a row in the last year and a half and it will catch up to him soon.(see Kevin Garnett) To say he would rather have 50 points than a win is such a false statement. You will not find a greater competitor in the NBA today. What Kobe has is the ability to take over the game when he wants with his ability to score the basketball. If he sees his team not winning or functioning, then yes he takes over the game and sometimes forces shots, but if the Lakers are going to go down, they will go down with their best player's guns blazing and that is what should be expected from your best player when all things are going wrong.

 

Anyone who truly watches the Lakers play know that when other players are scoring the ball well, the wealth is shared, when the Lakers are struggling, he takes it upon himself to bring them back around. I see no problem with that.

 

Kobe should be furious with LBJ winning the MVP. He should take it upon himself to elevate his game even further if he expects to win the MVP. I would be furious if my best player WASN'T furious for not winning the MVP. He better get some motivation from somewhere.

I am fairly sure that both Kobe and Shaq regret that their differences led to the dismantling of quite possibly the best 1-2 punch ever in the NBA. They should have been unstoppable and they should have at least 7 titles together at this point. They are easily both to blame for what happened in LA.

If he played for anyone but the Lakers, I probably would not like him that much. But I love the Lakers, so I am a HUGE Kobe Fan.

It wasn't just about points with Gasol and Odom. They were all around horrible and extremely soft in the finals last year. LeBron can't play defense or rebound for them. I would also make the argument that Kobe is every bit the playmaker LeBron is, the difference is that LeBron's boys actually make their wide open shots. I guarantee that in the last 6 years, no player has more blown assists than Kobe Bryant because of his teammate's inability to make wide open shots, catch the ball, etc.

 

Kobe is a spectacular athlete. Is he athletic as LeBron, nope, but for the things that he is able to do takes a level of athleticism that only 1 other person in the NBA has and his name is LeBron.

 

I could see Kobe playing past 36, but if he does, it will be in a role he knows is suited for him. Next year, what we are about to witness from LeBron James will erase anyone's incorrect doubts of what LeBron is going to do to the NBA for the remainder of his career. LeBron officially enters his athletic AND basketball prime next year. Need I say more........

Can't stand the guy, especially after the way the whole Shaq/Kobe/Phil Jackson love triangle played out. He just seems like a selfish person on the floor, I know he averages 5 dimes a game, but he doesn't seem like he trusts his team mates enough to make him a successful player ala Jordan. I know I'll get a lot of heat on here for saying this; but his selfish personality seems to be the limiting factor in him being able to win a title without Shaq, I know he is 10 times the player now than he was with Shaq, but I don't think he'll ever win a title without Daddy Diesel.

 

I'm not saying he isn't great-by all means he is a top 5 player all-time-but I think some overrate him when they say he is money in the clutch, I would take Paul Pierce, LeBron and Chauncey Billups to take a shot with 5 seconds left in Game 7 of the finals over Kobe every day of the year.
