Bengals Trade Harris for Leonard

Featured Replies

I disagree with you on the Coles pickup.

Coles has had a very good career up until this point, with 631 receptions for 8,095 yards and 44 touchdowns. That is actually 124 receptions, 2313 yards, and 7 touchdowns better than T.J. Houshmanzadeh.

Without anything near a Carson Palmer as his QB.

Definte upgrade

Brett Favre, even at 39, is something near Carson Palmer. He's not what he used to be, but he isn't terrible either.

I don't think Palmer is as good as some of you all make him out to be.

And I still can't see this as a definite upgrade. Housh has had more yards for the past 2-3 years, including last year when he had Fitzpaterick throwing to him.

Because he couldn't throw the ball down field to anybody else.

6-10 is my prediction. I could see them maybe winning @ NYJ and vs. Houston as well. So 8-8 is possible.

More of wishful thinking rather than high expectations.

Its really hard to tell how good they can be. It depends on how much of an impact the new defensive players have and the defensive guys coming off injury.

Chad Johnson didn't go deep every time. Neither did all of the other receivers. It's not like Housh was his only option on every play.

Palmer is an elite QB when he has time to throw. He doesn't move around in the pocket very well at all when pressured.

He sure acted like it was his only option:lol::lol:

You want to know what is real funny is comparing Farve at 39 to a healthy Palmer.

Palmer-2006 4035yds 252yds per game 28tds 13ints 94 passer rating

What's funny is saying that going from Housh to Coles isn't a downgrade at all.

Its not.

Chad Johnson runs all the 15+ yard outs and the deep post routes. TJ ran the short slants... Shirly you can understand that...

Way to deflect... Coles hasn't been in the Bengals system. No one knows how it will turn out. Flip flop Coles with TJ the last few years (with a healthy Carson Palmer) and I guarentee Coles would put up better numbers than TJ would with the Jets...

What I understand is that if all Chad ran was 15 yard routes...the Bengals don't know how to call plays. He ran short routes as well, but still TJ caught almost twice as many balls and had almost twice as many yards.

To be honest, I think many Bengals fans are saying Coles has always been better simply because he is a Bengal now. If he weren't a Bengal, no one here would ever think Coles is better than TJ. Fact of the matter is, TJ has had better numbers for the past 3 years. And you all want to bring up how Coles hasn't had a good QB throwing to him....well TJ had Fitz throwing to him all year and he still had better numbers.
