May 7, 200917 yr Brian Leonard Traded To Bengals Running back Brian Leonard is a Cincinnati Bengal following a trade today. The St. Louis Rams traded Leonard today in exchange for defensive tackle Orien Harris, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. A former Rutgers star, Leonard rushed for 303 yards as a rookie in seven starts. That included a 102-yard performance on 18 carries against the Arizona Cardinals. However, Leonard only played in two games last season due to injuries and was limited to seven yards on two carries. Leonard has undergone surgery on both shoulders since being in the NFL. Drafted in the second round in 2007, Leonard was signed to a four-year, $2.8 million contract that included $1.55 million in guaranteed money.
May 7, 200917 yr This is another good pickup. Bengals getting better and better everyday. They will at least be in the hunt for the playoffs. I think the can win the division.

May 7, 200917 yr About this pick up...it could be decent...but it's not a trade that will make or break them by any means.
May 7, 200917 yr  They will not come close imo. This happens every year. When I finally jump in and try to get them to be realistic, I'm a hater and a pessimist. For now I'm just sitting back and
May 7, 200917 yr  They will not come close imo. Laugh all you want, any reason you believe this, other than hating the Bengals for some reason? They've drastically improved their defense, and everyone seems to forget that Ryan freaking Fitzpatrick was their quarterback last year. Why can't the Bengals compete with the Steelers and Ravens? Everytime you get a chance, you put a laughing smiley when someone compliments the Bengals...

They will see how much better they are soon enough.
May 8, 200917 yr I'm not forgetting anything. The Bengals do not have a very good offensive line IMO, I'm not sold on their running backs, Coles vs. Housh is a downgrade, Chad doesn't want to be there, and I'm still trying to figure out how they "drastically improved their defense".
May 8, 200917 yr Coles is not a downgrade from Housh in any way, shape, or form IMO. The O-line and running games are still question marks, but if those two show some improvement this season, they could definitely surprise some people. The D, IMO, is going to be very good. At the same time, I see nothing wrong with Bengal fans being optimistic this season. They have addressed all of their weaknesses through either Free Agency or the Draft, and have not made any bone-headed moves. What more can you, as a fan, ask for from your favorite team?

Everytime you get a chance, you put a laughing smiley when someone compliments the Bengals... I do not hate the Bengals, I just do not view everything they do as the "perfect move". They have had consistently bad management and I do not see any reason why that has changed this off season. They had a hit or miss draft, and by that I mean it could be great, but it could be flat out awful. Some of the guys they picked have some huge question marks. Getting Roy Williams doesn't do much either IMO. He might improve what they had, but that isn't saying much. I don't laugh every time someone compliments the Bengals. Only when I think expectations are far too high. And I think anyone who thinks the Bengals will be better than 8-8...has expectations that are far too high.

Every single team in the league had a "hit or miss" draft then.

Coles has been in the league 10 years (TJ, 9) and Coles has had 1 year in the past 5 years where he has gotten over 1000 yards. Coles has also had 3 years in the last 5 where he's gotten less than 900 yards in the season. TJ has had at least 900 yards every season for the last 5 seasons, including 2 seasons with over 1000 yards. TJ has also had more TD's every year for the past 5 years except for 1 (last season). The D is going to be very good? I disagree. The Steelers, Giants, Titans...those are teams with very good defense. The Bengals are not.
