TubbyCAT that is a strange statement.......PM me if you want to tak about recruiting at the next level.....particularly at the DIII stage.

How is it strange? What I mean is that at some level, NAIA, D-III, whatever it is. If a kid wants to play, has some skill set, and is willing to go somewhere then they can find a home to play basketball. It is not for everyone and there has to be some skill involved.

I know of many kids, who found places to play after HS, because they wanted to play, had some skill set, and wanted a college education. I know of a young lady, played juco in Alabama for 2 seasons, then 2 years at a a high end NAIA school, got her degree, makes a good life for herself now, and got to continue to play basketball after HS. Mainly because she was willing to move and relocate. She was not heavily recruited out of HS, but her, her dad, and uncle got the word out she wanted to play and she played. They did a great deal of work and it paid off!

That is just one example, not saying it is easy, but it can be done! You just have to look for that home and be willing to do some work!

Supposed to be @ the end of the week (Thursday or Friday) and that came from the mouth of one if the coaches getting an interview!

How does this effect the future of Mr Kelsch applying for the Boys head Coaching Job. Does this mean Molly will get her job back since he not intersted in the girls coaching job.. Im going with the long shot here and say Persinger by a 1/2 length

Just hope BC gets it right this time from the get go. If you think about it Bracken County has had some of the weirdest(in lue of a better word) coaching hires in recent memory. Maybe BearFacts can help out with this. In retrospect they could have turned out to look genius as brilliant hires or the way they look now. When was the last time Bracken County hired a Coach with VARSITY Coaching experience for Boys or Girls. Wasn't Coach Hammonds an assistant at Bourbon County before Bracken?, Jay Fite Coached Girls Varsity, but no Boys experience, I don't believe. Kelsch has been a JV Coach and then there are the hires of Schiltz and Breeze, which I don't know what to say. I don't know about the Coaching hires beyond the last 6-7 years, Did Fisher have varsity coaching experience before BC? Whatever the decision, it will be debated on this board for sure.:popcorn::thumb:

From what I have seen in the past 25 years. I would say the only coach I can remember is Gary Mckinney, and on the Girls side would be one of the the better coaches to ever be at Bracken County... the great under par shooter on the golf course, Mr Gary Clayton..

BEARFACTS, Agree with you about Coach Clayton. Do you know If Coach Fisher had previous varsity or for that matter any coaching experience before BC? Thanks.

It would seem that if the BC Administration truly had wanted a home grown coach w/community ties who stay around they could have had one w/out interviewing anyone else other then Persinger, Kelsch, and Hinson! Was it ever determined if Coach Hinson was going to get an interview however?

 

Maybe they truly are looking at bringing in the best person for the job and thus that is why they are interviewing others as well. Now, with the three that have BC ties and the others, hopefully they can find the best fit to run their boys program. By interviewing all of these men, that task would seem plausible!

Hinson did not get an interview. Persinger & Kelsch, along with at least two others, will be interviewing. And I think that is happening today.

So that would be Persinger, Kelsch, Miles, and another person then, correct? Is it the former Campbell assistant under Danny Sullivan?
