April 23, 200917 yr Can the guy put the ball in the basket? His scoring ability is the best part of his game. Can score in bunches.
April 24, 200917 yr He has signed... Is that possible? I didn't think you were allowed to sign multiple ones...
April 24, 200917 yr Author Is that possible? I didn't think you were allowed to sign multiple ones... I don't think you can sign multiple LOI's, but you do sign scholarship documentation. Either way, he's officially a Wildcat. :thumb:
April 24, 200917 yr Jerry Meyer of Rivals said if he was ranked with this years high school seniors he would be a 4 star recruit. Right. With a year of College Bball experience over those guys.
April 27, 200917 yr Even without Wall this is a pretty solid class. Still gotta like our chances next season!
April 27, 200917 yr Even without Wall this is a pretty solid class. Still gotta like our chances next season! No doubt. Everyone keeps saying we need a PG, which may be true, but I would rephrase it more to say a PG would be nice. People under estimate what Liggins and Galloway are going to be able to do under Cal. IF we don't get Wall, we "need" Bledsoe has been the war cry, but think about it. Bledsoe is ranked and rated almost identical to what Liggins was last year, with Liggins having a year experience and height advantage over Bledsoe. What does Liggins do better than anything? Drives to the basket. What would he be doing next season? Driving to the basket. Basically all I am trying to say is its hard to take a full throttle guy like Liggins and tell him to bounce the ball around the perimeter ten times, then get it down low, and make him look good. However, you take a full throttle guy with the upside Liggins has, place him in a system that fits his style (lets not forget Cal wanted him at Memphis) then what you have is a totally different player. Take Rondo under Tubby vs. NBA fast paced run and gun Rondo for example; two totally different players. Now don't get me wrong, someone like John Wall is a team changing and season changing recruit. Nailing him would be absolutely huge, however, I will not hang my head and get down about next year if we do not get him. Kentucky now has a coach who has brought energy back to the program and a style that keeps his teams competitive. Kentucky even without Wall would send a line-up out that could look like Liggins Meeks Miller Cousins Patterson with guys such as Orton, Hood, Galloway, Dodson, Pilgrim coming off the bench and adding depth, on top of guys who have experience such as Harris and Stevenson. Already its a big difference than last season. One, you have depth off the bench for a change. Two, you have a system that is better suited for UK's types of players to succeed. (Miller, Liggins, etc.) Three, Patterson has help down low, thus no more double/triple teaming, and he has a whole platoon of help. Three, you have leadership. Cal has already sparked things, guys like Patterson, then the seniors such as Meeks, Stevenson, Harris, etc. will lead this team. I mean those reasons alone makes next years team a far cry better than last years. Of course its banking on Meeks and Patterson returning but it is also an outlook without say Wall or Bledsoe. Biggest difference though will be change in coaching and coaching philosophy. What Gillespie does did not work at Kentucky, and just didn't work in the SEC. However, Calipari gives you a top five coach and that's something you can't just pick up between off-seasons if say you are just a team looking to improve. I def. didn't mean for this post to be this long, but I have been thinking about this a lot lately and no matter what Kentucky will be very solid next year. With Wall, then who knows???
April 27, 200917 yr Harrellson is saying he's staying at UK. Sounds like Stewart isn't. I've lost count. Where is UK in numbers of players vs the limit?
