Nobody on Holmes is on the roster?

 

Their best players were all juniors.

I trust the coaches who selected the KY team but I believe Riley is the guy that made Holmes go and he should have made this team. He will be missed.

Apollo's Butler is a great PG. The biggest knock is that he is at most 5'9". He has a huge heart and leaves it all on the floor. Really improved his 3pt shooting between his Jr. and Sr. season. As good of an on the ball defender as I have seen in the 3rd region. Gets a lot of rebounds for his size. Wasn't a prolific scorer until this season when he had to be. Hopefully he will represent the school well.

 

As far as Hopper, he is very intense on the sidelines. Hard to say how effective his style will be in an all star situation, but over the course of a regular season he finds out how to get people to play to their potential. The 2006 semi-finalist team that he coached wasn't the most talented group, in fact the were lucky to get state. Needed overtime to advance past the first round of district and at regions needed overtime in the semis and triple overtime in the finals.

Size is an issue every year in this game. Indiana always has a handful of 6'7, 6'8, 6'9 kids that can post and step out as well. There's just not much size in Kentucky. Add in the population difference between the two states and Kentucky is behind the eight ball before the game ever starts. There is one thing not too be worried about, Kentucky has two of the best in the business on the sidelines. These kids will be ready to compete for Coach Hopper and Coach Listerman, if they aren't they won't be around long!

 

I would say that the coaches knew that they had a size disadvantage and had to look at those that would concentrate and be aggressive on defense at all times. I will have to agree, they have two no nonsense coaches that will challenge them as they have not been before. Good Luck

Team chemistry is why players like Leonard Macon, Mosley and others were not selected...and players like the Faulkners and Corey Jackson were. Would they buy into the team concept and be content with the amount of playing time they received?

I would agree with the chemistry statement but Corey Jackson made the team because he was one of the most consistent players throughout the entire tryout. Outside of Middleton, no one played better than Jackson for all 3 workouts. He opened alot of eyes and earned himself a scholarship to Southeastern Illinois Junior College.

I hate to say that I live here in Indianapolis and I love Kentucky but, i don't think we will have any chance of beating the talented group of Indiana All Stars! I have the pleasure of watching one of Hopkinsville's best participate and I will definitely be in the house when they play here in Indianapolis. Although, I'm 6'3" tall I have always been one to say that size isn't everything but, Indiana has some talented high school seniors and I don't even thin our Kentucky boys can even keep it close. I'll still be there rooting my bluegrass boys on!

I agree with you! Kentucky will get blasted against Indiana this year. No contest what so ever.
