It's my understanding that Ethan Spurlin from Lincoln County (12th region) made the team. Why is his name not on the list? Have I been misinformed?:idunno:

That may explain Butler making the team. I have just never heard of him before, and he made it over some great players. Maybe he will prove me wrong in the allstar game.

There were big guys that can score defend and rebound that had good "tryouts" but were not selected. From what I am told it was pretty much decided before tryouts that Kentucky would be going small. There are guys on the team that did not have good tryouts at all, and they were still locks for the team apparently. There are many that will agree with these statements. To knock on the bigs because they are not on the final roster is in no way justified.

 

 

I don't believe there were any locks with the exception of Jon Hood and he still played hard at try outs. The current theme throughout this final roster seems to be defensive and team oriented. This years bigs seemed to have difficulty defending anything outside and may not have fit in with the coaches vision. Coaches of the year from most regions picked this team. Not the strenght of last year but hopefully the heart.

I just don't understand a guy like Chris Dowe not making it. I was very impressed with him when I have seen him. Hes probably 6-3 I believe and can shoot or put it on the floor. He was very impressive at the Sweet 16.

Boy, if he didn't quit so easily they probably would have been undefeated.

You know I don't know what coach's vision was for this team, was but taking in the tryouts which I did for two days the guards that were chosen were clearly out played both days. Now I am a true fan of a few of them like the Faulkner twins but lets be real here Eric Mosley at 26.4 on the season, and Dayvon Sloan at 24.9 out played the both of them by far now picture that.

I had to miss the Eastern-Central game but judging by the Corbin game I thought Dowe was as impressive as anyone at the Sweet 16 this year.
