How can anyone defend Obama...

Obama isn't going anywhere "with his tail between his legs" ... he's trying to establish some diplomacy.

Why is he going every where and apologizing. I just don't feel like his behavior in diplomacy has been a little weak. Bush's methods IMO were not correct either. I just think it needs to be somewhere in between.

You know...I keep hearing this apologizing rhetoric. But where has he said "I'm sorry"? He has said "We're not perfect, we've made mistakes, we intend to move forward". Where is the apology I keep hearing about?

The "carry a big stick" approach to foreign policy didn't exactly work smoothly for the Bush administration. Obama is trying a different approach called diplomacy.

Like Rockmom, I don't see any evidence that he's apologizing for anything, just admitting that we're not perfect and that we're willing to engage in diplomacy to get things done.

The "you guys still suck big time but , hey, we're open to diplomacy" talk track just doesn't seem like it would be very effective.

I look at it this way, someone has to be the adult in these situations, or in this case a national leader needs to be the adult, it clearly isn't someone such as Ortega. If others see that we at least will listen to anything, then people/leaders like Ortega have a harder time pointing fingers at nations like the US as the wealthy "bully" that think they are too good for others.

Show me where he has apologized. Admitted that we have made mistakes, yes...said "I'm sorry" or "I apologize," he hasn't.

At the European conference a few weeks ago.

When President Obama makes these visits, it seems to me he's trying to give the impression the US has been an immoral, arrogant terrible country...Right up to the time he was elected. Now the US is perfect.

Frankly I'm sick of it. The United States of America has been the most generous, compassionate, giving country that has sacrificed more for the sake of freedom than ANY other country on God's earth. Before BHO ever came along too! I would appreciate it if he would defend Her and DEMAND the respect She deserves.

At times, we have been arrogant. At times, we've angered some in other parts of the world with the way we've meddled into their affairs. Frankly, we're still paying the price for some of that.

Acknowledging that isn't a mistake. Actually, it may send a message to the rest of the world that Obama can be someone worthy of trust.

We'll see how things work out.

I'll go along with that. I hope it works out beautifully.

Our arrogance while meddling should not only be forgiven, but forgotten as well since in almost all cases good will was intended. We have literally pulled countries out of oblivion in the past...Only to be chastised by them.

Many of these countries that feel we are arrogant meddlers simply can't get over their extreme jealousy (and hatred for Christians) long enough to be thankful.

If an arrogant punk pulls you out of quicksand, will his arrogance be what you focus on from now on?

Very debatable. In most of those cases, our motives were self-serving.

Frankly, most of the world doesn't like us telling them how they should live their lives and who their leaders shall be.

Even more so than before because not only is he arrogant, but now you owe him your life.

Forgive me. Maybe I'm an over zealous patriot. I believe our good deeds as a nation outweigh the bad by a bunch. If you don't see it that way, so be it. I respect your opinion.
