April 21, 200917 yr The "Ice-Man" needs to think about a new career path @ this point! he looks old and tired and finished! I would love to see "The Spider" & GSP hook up. Maybe on the same card as Rashaad Evans and Rampage! Dreamin' again, sorry guys! Rashad isn't fighting Rampage, he's fighting Lyoto Machida and I believe it is at the next PPV, so there is NO chance that Silva would fight him on that card.
April 21, 200917 yr Silva/GSP is something I'm not interested in, Silva cuts more weight than anyone in MMA(some reports he gets up to 230lbs) and he would overpower GSP. He is a great MMA striker, and his length is going to pose problems for all the 185 division but he wants none of the top of the food chain in the 205lbs division. That part I cant agree with. I would love to see him against those top 205 guys because they would be great fights and honestly Im not sure which guys if any at the top of that weight class that he wouldnt be favored against.
April 21, 200917 yr Yeah it got pretty ridiculous. I guess I could understand he was doing what he thought he could do in trying to survive a five round title bout against the spider, by my lord man stand in there a little bit. I thought it was hilarious when after a while Anderson started trying to punch his toes while Leites was in his guard. There were probably more leg kicks to Leites thighs while was on the ground then there was shots landed by Leites on Silva, and for those who didnt watch Anderson only kicked him once or twice each time he went into his half guard, then Silva would let him up. Would create a lot of match-ups I would love to see. A Rampage matchup really comes to mind, no being scared there. More than likely wouldn't happen but a champion vs. champion with Griffin would also be nice. Its just hard to see Silva wanting to put on the extra pounds and move up though, its not his fault nobody is even close to him in the middleweight division. And for those thinking GSP will give him a fight, I really just dont think so. Furthermore, I expect Rampage to get another shot at Griffin here pretty soon. Griffin would need to win a title again for that to happen.

I meant Rashad Evans and I guess Griffin came out because I was getting ready to mention the thought of another Rampage-Griffin fight with the winner getting another shot at the title.

The only reason I say that is his strength would be negated because those guys are as big, they could down him and GnP him, or somewhat negate his reach. His BJJ skills would be put to the test, and he is unwilling to test them.
April 21, 200917 yr I didnt care much for the fight as soon as it was announced. I think its about time he gives up the belt at 185 and moves up to 205. Those are the only guys who could test him and there would be quite a few big money fights for him and the UFC if he did move up. To me, it's a no-brainer. But, I think the UFC is trying to milk the best of both worlds...they have the automatic draw of Silva at 185 and the 205 pound division is its best overall draw as a weight class. But, if you can't put any competition in front of Silva, something has to be done.
April 21, 200917 yr Silva has easily dispatched some of the top middleweights in the world...Rich Franklin twice, Dan Henderson and Nate Marquardt. It's not his fault that he ran through the best like it was a training session and now the UFC can't even come up with an interesting fight, much less a competitive one. He chased Rich Franklin back to 205. He is the best fighter in a bad division right now. That doesn't mean Silva isn't one of the best fighters in the world. BTW, people like GSP so well...what is so impressive about the welterweight class and his latest run? Hughes was great, but his time is past. Serra? Please. Koscheck and Fitch are solid fighters, but not great. BJ Penn is great...as a lightweight. I just don't get that impressed when a guy overpowers someone who should be fighting at a lesser weight class.
April 21, 200917 yr Rampage will be fighting Rashaad at some point! Any idea when Forrest Griffin is fighting again? I heard late summer, maybe early fall. Forrest jacked up his hand against Rashad at UFC 92 and he may get back in the mix by UFC 101 or 102.
