Paulus has been offered a WR position on the Duke football team...

I like this move on his part. The guy has no shot at the NBA so why not try and get some football in and see if he can get a shot at the NFL. He was an absolute stud in football and if you dont believe me look up his youtube videos. I hope he does go there and does good. I would definatly love to see him beat up on the Buckeyes .

This is really interesting especially in light of his horrendous senior basketball season. It is almost like he says ok Coach K so you benched me I'll just be a f-f-f-ootball player!

My apologies to the QB on Waterboy.

Paulus has been offered a WR position on the Duke football team...

He told the Duke coach he was declining that offer. He wants to be a QB.

Um no offense to the Duke coach but does he have a top rated QB already?????

Not sure, but he did say they were "pretty set at that position".

I am obviously a huge Paulus fan, however he WAS a great HS QB, I don't know if he still is. Obviously he'll get a shot somewhere. With his style of play Michigan seems like the perfect spot. They run a very similar offense to the one he thrived in, in HS. Problem, he doesn't get to really get into a playbook until summer....that's a short learning curve for one season of eligibility. Do you think he'll slap the turf in the Big House, or take a charge, when a DE attacks?

I think the issue was, in part, that Paulus' high school success came in a spread passing system while Cutcliffe runs more of an under-center pro style system. He didn't feel it was a good fit for Duke considering they have guys that have been in the system for years while Paulus would only have a few months to get ready and he would only be available to the team for 1 season at the most.

It's two fold...the difference in styles, and Paulus' brother plays football for Carolina.

I don't think this was a consideration for Cutcliffe (not even sure why it would be, honestly).

Here is the article where Cutcliffe discusses the reasoning.

That's fine..Cutcliffe says the right thing...Paulus is smart as well.

Michigan has offered.

Paulus will do a great job as a college football player, there is no doubt in "his" mind.

Paulus will be an all american! .................untill he gets hit.:sssh::cry:

JMO of course....:D

Michigan has offered.

Atta Boy Rich Rod ! Being an Ohio State fan, I think that I am going to like this.
