Autograph

Featured Replies

Anyone ever ask you for your Autograph? Not counting Home loans/speeding tickets/.

Once for me 25 years ago playing in Detroit in a softball World tourney. I signed a couple of softballs for some teenage girls. One lady asked for my jersey after the finals, I had an extra one and gave it to her.

Thats all I have, but for a few minutes I was really flattered.

I've only asked for someone's a few times. I always heard the horror stories about how much they hate to be asked. I have Shaun's/Jay Barkers/Joe Namath/Bart Starrs/Johnny Musso/.

I asked for a old ABA basketball player Wendell Ladner. He was coming out of a bank and I saw him. I knew a lady who was crazy about him. The next day he was killed in a plane crash, so it was at least 25 years before I ever asked again.

I was asked for mine a couple times back in the high school days when my team was making a run in the Sweet 16 high school tourney.

I've only asked for two though, Pete Rose as he was in the airport and Kenny Maine also in the airport.

Last year at UK when people were camping out for Big Blue Madness tickets, I was asked for my autograph several times.

I've gotten the autographs of baseball players such as David Ortiz (nice guy), Mike Piazza, Gary Sheffield, Tom Glavine, etc

When Shawn Johnson and I would go back to some Trinity games they would ask for his, then mine by attrition.

Working as the batboy for the Florence Freedom during the '06 and '07 seasons I was constantly asked for my autograph. Of course they were from young kids who just knew that I was wearing a uniform. I'll tell you though it makes you feel good that even after they find out you are just the batboy they still want it. In total I have probably signed 200-250 autographs.

If we have a good show at a good venue or a venue we haven't played before, I will usually get asked for an autograph(s) at some point during the night.

I was also in a performance of "Into the Woods" in high school and a guy asked for all of our autographs at the end of the show.

As for asking for autographs, when I was little, I attended a baseball camp at Pikeville High School and got all of the players to autograph my glove.

And most recently, I met Yngwie Malmsteen and got his autograph.

I've given out a few autographs.

Back in high school, I was asked for an autograph at a Wendy's in Campbell Co. The kids were probably 6 or so (it was a boy & a girl), and their mom said "Hey, would you mind signing something for my kids? They're stupid and want your autgraphs but are too scared to ask."

I said, "Me?" and she goes, "Yeah, if you could just sign this napkin or something."

So I signed the napkin and ate my Spicy Chicken sandwhich.

When I was a senior I had a freshman girl ask me to sign her year book...

I have my picture taken with Bill Cowher and he singed it the next year. The only problem is my ex wife is also in the photo...

Never asked for mine but I have a friend that played college basketball and is about to start playing overseas, every time we go out someone asks him for his, or asks him to come over to their table and say hello to their kid or something. It makes me feel mildly special just being with him.

I signed a few back in college after baseball games or during batting practice. It was a small school and just kids but it was pretty fun anyway--I was only 19 myself.

Pancake, when I was a Senior I only dated freshmen girls. :idunno:

After a football game, I had an amazing interception, then a little kid asked for it. I felt cool:banana:.

Never, and it's not likely, either.

Unless they make a BGP HOF.lol-049.gif
