April 7, 200917 yr They just opened one of these here in Bardstown. I was skeptical, because I've always been a pretty loyal BW3 guy when it comes to chicken wings. A lot of that had to do with my experiences at the Buffalo Wings and Rings locations in NoKy -- especially the Florence location -- in that I always found the place to be dumpy and the wings not particularly good. But this location in Bardstown resembles my experiences at the Florence and Taylor Mill locations in no way, shape or form. It seems as though the company has really upped the ante and improved its game -- or, at least, they did for this one. The food was good and the design of the restaurant itself was pretty good -- well-lit, inviting, with a nice patio and plenty of TVs. Do the NoKy Buffalo Wings and Rings stores still leave something to be desired? Or have they undergone a makeover as well? For that matter, has the entire company undergone a makeover?
April 7, 200917 yr I believe there is only one location in NKY, off Buttermilk and I've never been. I did happen to read an article about the company last year, and they are on the rise.
April 7, 200917 yr The Buffalo Wings and Rings in Taylor Mill is now Knuck and Futz, however, I think their wings and sauce are the same as Wings and Rings use to be. Definitely my favorite place to get wings in N. Kentucky!
April 7, 200917 yr Used to be one in Alexandria, but it got closed down about 5 years ago... Went to one in Milford a couple months back, and it wasn't similar at all, I was impressed...
April 7, 200917 yr Was at the one off Buttermilk in NOKY last Saturday and it was good. The atmosphere was fine and the food was real good.
April 7, 200917 yr All these comments about the food and athmosphere. You forgot the most important thing. How cold is the beer?

April 7, 200917 yr There are a couple in Louisville and I am not impressed. They don't give me a reason to not hit B-Dubs.

April 7, 200917 yr Author All these comments about the food and athmosphere. You forgot the most important thing. How cold is the beer? I have no complaints. There are a couple in Louisville and I am not impressed. They don't give me a reason to not hit B-Dubs. Obviously, if I have my d'ruthers, I'd go to BW3. As I said, I'm a loyalist. However, there's no BW3 in Bardstown, so this place will do in a pinch. I will watch it close to see if it backslides some once the honeymoon wears off, as often happens when a new restaurant opens.

I will watch it close to see if it backslides some once the honeymoon wears off, as often happens when a new restaurant opens. My kids love it. They just tell me I need to order extra wet or some craziness. But of my 5 or 6 visits, trying to give the the benefit, I have not been pleased with flavor, or service. Sorry there is no B-DUB in bardstown, Something to work on!
April 7, 200917 yr I've been to the in Louisville (Fern Creek Area)... I was not impressed. There was more breading than chicken, and the wings were very dry - the parchment paper they serve the wings on was dry after I had finished. They also did not have a combo that included both wings and fries - they made me pay around $2-3 extra for fries. I'd rather have Pizza Hut's Wingstreet wings than go to Buffalo Wings and Rings again.
April 7, 200917 yr Go to Quaker Steak and Lube for the best wings ever. Dusted Chipoltle bbq. Simply amazing. The only problem is I don't think any are in KY. One in Milford and one in the Colerain area.
April 7, 200917 yr They had the best cajun fries ever! We would get it about once a week. I miss that place. There would always be extra sauce from the wings for the fries.. That was key.
