March 28, 200917 yr Didn't win the games that he needed to make the administration forget about everything else. If he goes 30-5 and makes a final four and then they ask for a resignation.......we are wanting Mitch out of town. He could of been the same way he was and if he would of won the games to back it up and no one would say a word. It may not be preferred but as my old coach says"winning fixes everything."
March 28, 200917 yr In game coaching. Crazy substitution pattern. Game day practices. To stubborn. Would only run man-to-man defnse. Could not adress the media correctly. Losses to Gardener-Webb(year 1), VMI, Gerogia destroyed everything AT HOME. Wouldn't ever sign the extended contract. He did not have much class about him. The slipper simply did not fit for him at UK.
March 28, 200917 yr Let's not forget that he wasn't married and they couldn't show his wife on every timeout like they used to with the Smiths.
March 28, 200917 yr I agree, they should be held accountable....would love to see the evaluation they recieve this year....:walk: :thumb::thumb: Both really dropped the ball (especiially MB) and imo should be on very thin ice wearing a pair of cement shoes. (figuratively speaking of course I don't wish actual drowning )
March 28, 200917 yr Here's some interesting examples from Matt Jones: — Coach told Jodie Meeks in a number of games to stop shooting and decried him for his selfishness, even during his 54 point performance in Knoxville. He told Meeks he should quit on a number of occasions and even threatened to kick him off the team in his last game ever, in South Bend during the NIT. — At halftime of one game, he forced a player to sit in a bathroom stall with the door closed during the entire break because he said he couldnt stand to look at him. — On more than one occasion, when a young player went into his office to ask for advice on how he could get better, he returned from the office having been berated by the coach and crying as he returned to Wildcat Lodge. — On one road trip, a player who had been injured but was deemed to be too “soft” by the Coach was told to walk to the hotel from the arena, and only after teammates said that they would be get off the bus and walk with him, was he allowed back on. — On another road trip, a player who felt the criticism was so strong that he locked himself in a room crying, while the team bus waited outside.
March 28, 200917 yr Go ahead all you insiders, list what he did. I am by no means an insider like alot on here obviously are but as I posted on another thread imo this one statement may explain alot of it.................... "It's not all about the X's and O's, it's about the Jimmy's and Joe's". BCG's people skills were not only bad, they were non existent. Be it his players, the U.K. administration, the media or the public/community in general BCG failed miserably.

The 4th one was Darius Miller. I'm pretty confident that the 2nd one was Perry Stevenson.

This is disgraceful and IMO UK should make all this information public. If all this is true, the only basketball team Billy G should be allowed to coach at is in a prison pickup game. He should never be allowed to coach any team at an level again.
