Calipari Not Interested in Kentucky Job?

I'd like to officially announce that I, RowdyRedRam, also have no interest in the UK job.

I want to thrown my name out there.

I'm currently drawing unemployment and I am available at a very low salary.

As I recall, yes. He was the 2nd choice. The first choice was the former Seton Hall coach who went to the pros and whose name eludes me now. Famous for assaulting Spreewell's hands with his throat.

Pitino was the 2nd one Newton went after and landed him away from the Knicks.

Has a coach ever said they were interested in another job when the home town media asked ?

Calipari did not say that he was not interested in the job.

He said that he "wants to be here", referring to Memphis.

He also said that his name is going to be linked to every job opening in the country & that the Memphis fans are used to that by now.

He didn't specifically state that he's not coming to Kentucky.

So he made the exact statement that every other coach in the nation makes when they are asked if they are interested in a different job ?

That's what I was getting at.

My realistic options as of now:

Sean Miller (Don't know if he'd accept)

Rick Barnes

Thad Matta

Travis Ford

John Pelphrey

I'm not convinced UK doesn't land an elite coach at this point. I don't care who is saying they aren't interested as that doesn't mean much in this day in age. I am giving blind faith to Mitch and Todd that they have a plan and will not hire a flop. Having said that I will now pray.
