Just wondering how much money the 10th Region made at NKU this year? Did they make as much as they did last year or the year before that?

Playing at that arena? PRICELESS:thumb:

The fans loved it. Did not have to empty the gym after each game and have a time delay as was always the way in Mason County. If Mason had treated their fans better they might not have lost the venue. THis year we got to see all games for one price. Mason Co. made sure that you had to spent time shopping or eating / spending money between each game. shame on them. see what it got them?

The 10th Region Tournament could have been played in the Taj Mahal in the past, and it would have still come to the BOKC this year.

When the KHSAA changed the policy of the regional site being chosen by the previous year's participating teams, and dictated policy whereby districts selected the site on an annual/rotational basis, it opened the flood gates for the 10th Region tournament to go on a road tour.

It was the feelings of the members of the 37th District that we had a wonderful venue to provide for the tournament, and give our fans a "homecourt" advantage, at least as far as miles driven were concerned.

Yes, the splits were pre-determined, and I think everyone enjoyed their experiences at the BOKC. NOBODY (that I am aware of) has ever questioned the ability of the Mason County folks to administrate the tournament when it is held at the Fieldhouse, AND all details are agreed and voted upon by the participating schools before they are enacted. There is no perfect magic formula to please all the fans, all the time. The days of the joint semi-finals at the Fieldhouse had simply become an administrative nightmare, therefore requiring the split. The 9th Region had split their semi-finals ad infinitum.

Does anyone have the $ that the schools received?

I thought the BOK did a great job ...wouldn't mind having it there every year....and yes we do have a long way to travel. If not there every year I would like to see it rotate between Mason, Montgomery Co and the BOK. All did good jobs and all have pro and cons.

I talked to Campbell County officials and was told that each school will get $4375 which is what was part of the deal. I guess the next big question is if BOK will put the same deal out to the 38th district. This amount was more than what was paid the last two seasons.

Thanks for the info. Don't know why they would choose another site. More $ for the schools and the best facility. Sounds like a winner and no brainer to me.:thumb:

It is not more money unless you are comparing it to Montgomery last year. Since 2000 through 2007, except for one bad weather year, every school in the tourney received $5000 which means every other school in the Region received money. No school but the participating schools have received money the last two years. Mason holds a first rate profitable tourney year in and year out. It is easy for a person from Clark to say hold it a BOK because they participate every year but how does Paris feels when they have received zero the last two years!!

Wow.....if that is the case then shame on the 10th region for the following reasons.

First they have cost the participating teams money.

Second they cost the non participating teams money.

Third why play "2nd fiddle" to the 9th region championship game? Meaning why should the 10th region play a 6:00 championship......

So, am I reading this right? Were the only teams in the 10th to get "shares" the last two years the teams participating in the regional tournament? And did ALL 10th region teams get something before 2008?

If that's indeed the case, WOW!
