Thanks goodness for home playoffs this year. Without those, this years revenues might be off a bit. Three home games will equal the one St. X game. Why does HHS only have 4 home games?

Looks like the schedule was a major scramble to put together. My guess is they didnt have a choice when it came down to it. If they asked a team to play them they probably said, "ok, but we are playing at our place".

Lets face it, the Scott/Dixie games they had to come to us because it is our year to host. The 2nd Ryle game, well its the rubber match. Cincy St. X is so darn good they probably said we dont care where we play you. Those are just my thoughts on why so many away games.

I like Boone returning to the schedule. I like the Beechwood game being a FoxSports game of the week (assuming that's why it's on a Thursday).

The Withrow game brings nothing to the table. Not a fan of playing any school twice in the regular season (Ryle).

Are you sure this is right? The information I was given showed the Boone County game being a home game for Highlands in 2009, thus giving the Bluebirds 5 home and 5 away games. Did this change?

You're right, Boone is a home game on the schedule given out to the team.

I'm also glad to see that Highlands-Beechwood will (hopefully) be the FoxSports game of the week. Also, the Boone County game should be interesting, since it sounds like BC will have a solid squad in 2009.

I will disagree with the Withrow comment, however. Withrow usually has a good deal of talent at the skill positions, and I think it's good that Highlands faces teams with this level of athletic ability. Also, Withrow's JV team beat HHS' JV team back in 2007. Plus, the travel expenses for HHS will be minimal and I personally like it when Highlands schedules programs they usually don't play against.

Frankly, I think the one game on the non-district schedule that doesn't bring much to the table is the Highlands-Beechwood game. True, it involves two NKY powers, but I'm hearing that BW will be a bit down in 2009 and the game may get ugly.

Finally, I don't think anyone feels that Highlands-Ryle playing twice in a season is ideal, but I believe the reality is that Highlands couldn't get something different worked out.

You're right, Boone is a home game on the schedule given out to the team.

Also, are the times listed in the original post definitely correct (some are 7 and some 7:30)? I just want to make sure I have it right.

I stand corrected. My mistake.

I love Boone and Beechwood on the schedule. I wouldn't mind seeing Withrow dropped for another NKY school.

I like Withrow being on the schedule. Highlands JV played Withrow in 2007 the day after the varsity beat Trottwood Madison. It was the only Highlands JV loss of the season. Looking forward to changing the outcome of that match up this year.
