Nobody has mentioned Simon Kenton.

 

Simon Kenton, located a stones throw (as the crow flies) from Brossart, Campbell County and Scott is presently located in the 8th Region.

 

I could see them becoming a nice future fit for the 10th Region, and maybe making space for Cooper or Ryle to join the 8th.

 

With the Campbell schools shifting eastward, there will be a small shortage in the 9th. I could see a scenario with a newfangled 9th featuring:

The 9th Region is growing. They can only delay breaking it up for so long. I would anticipate Campbell Co. to be entirely in the 10th in the near future. And I don't just mean the Campbell School District.

 

 

I agree with you totally and when I mentioned this to a HHS fan at the BOKC he said no way would the KSHAA move the entire County of Campbell (Schools) to the 10th... I think you are going to see this......

Sandman it hasn't happened yet but can you hear the out cry from the rest of the Commonwealth when one year it does happen and that is Dixie winning the ninth, Simon Kenton winning the 8th and Scott winning the 10th. That would be three teams from one county going to Rupp and when you consider Jefferson would have (as always) two school there, that would make almost a third of the schools in the sweet sixteen from two counties. Talk about screaming......

 

Now how many school districts have one school (remember they only have three total HS in the Kenton County School district) spread out over three regions? Campbell will be moving to the 10th and the Kenton School will be moving back into the ninth. Count on it.....

I too have heard the Clark to the 11th, Montgomery to the 16th rumors.

I'm curious about a couple of things.

 

What are these rumors based on, and what has changed in the 10th, 11th, and 16th that would necessitate a change.

I do know that the KHSAA will occasionally re-align districts as required, i.e. St. Henry to the 33rd (?), but I would be more than a little surprised if a re-alignement was conducted in the 10th, 11th, and 16th without the addition or consolidation of existing schools.

 

I don't think it is as much the 10th, 11th, or 16th per say. Alot has to do with growth of NKY, they are just about in need of two regions like the L-ville area. Also, in the mountains they are consolidating the smaller schools into one. Teams are just going to have to keep moving south. The way I see it I believe the 40th district will soon be Mason Co., Deming, Fleming Co., St. Pat; that will be the southern boundary of the 10th region.

I have heard that it is a result of overcrowding in the 9th. They want to move GRC and Montgomery out of the 10th to make room for more teams from the 9th. Don't know if there is any truth to this, but that is what I've heard.

Because, like I said, breaking up the 9th Region is unavoidable. Unless the NoKy area stops growing, and you and I both know that ain't happening.

I started on a realignment proposal last night, but couldn't finish it before bedtime. I'm hoping I have more time to work on it tonight. And make no mistake, it is work.

Traditional rivalries are great and all, but a lot of those will have to continue without district implications in the future.

Folks here in the 8th Region are starting to squirm a little with the possibility of Scott County coming back to the 8th. Does that rumor have legs??

There were some rumblings about Jenkins moving to the 15th. I know the "super district" was a one year plan. Is there a date set for realignment?
