I want Obama to succeed. I hope 4 years from now, I can walk into the voting booth and vote for him. I don't see it as likely as I disagree with almost every stance he has, but I'm hoping. However, I don't think there is any chance at all that if he implements the policies he wants to that he will succeed, unless his goal is to hinder America.

I get frustrated because I think he does have some good insight and could bring some decent debate to the table if he didn't try so darn hard to insult people.

The difference being that Carville has actually participated in the political process (and may well still be) whereas Limbaugh never has.

Rush took it one step further by saying he hopes that Obama's stimulus package "prolongs the recession."

 

Easy to say for a multimillionaire. Disappointing for an American to say.

 

I understand where Rush is coming from with the initial statement. He thinks Obama's policies are bad for the country, thus he hopes they fail. By saying that, he is saying he wants America to succeed.

 

However, I don't agree with the bolded. The stimulus plan has already passed and will be implemented. There is no reason to hope it doesn't work at this point.

As for the feigned "outrage" over Carville's statement not being reported. Please. Will America ever progress beyond childish bickering?

 

Additionally, I commend the press for not pushing that comment. They exercised restraint at a time when Americans needed to be together, not divided. Like now. My only complaint is that they don't do things like this more often, on both sides.

Obama's cabinet decides attacking Rush Limbaugh is a priority.

Conservative talking heads continue to play "gotcha" with anything and everything that doesn't fit 100% with their view. Liberal talking heads do the same.

 

I could go on, but why bother?

 

One can only imagine what could be accomplished if all these people put their intelligence and creativity to good use, i.e., finding real solutions to the problems that threaten our country. Too bad the only place that will ever happen is in our imaginations.

• He does not believe th stimulus package will help the economy.
  
• He believes the stimulus package represents a huge increase in government control and therefore a huge reduction in personal freedom.
  
• He believes that if the economy recovers people will believe the stimulus package was the cause of the recovery and liberal policies will be expanded even further.
  
• He believes that if the stimulus package prolongs the recession people will recognize that government control of the economy does not work and liberal policies will be rejected by the people.
  
• He believes that country would be better served in the long run from both an economic and personal freedom perspective if the stimulus package fails.

Don't take me wrong on this Clyde...But no matter what happens with our economy there will be "victims" that will suffer. In any society under any kind of government in which there is an economy to speak of, there will be ups and downs where some will prosper and others will suffer, always have and always will. Utopia does not and will not ever exist on this earth.

 

Believe me when I say...I, for one, am willing to suffer to keep this country closer to what our forefathers designed (constitution). I like to believe that I'm a Patriot. Call me crazy, but IMO Rush is one of the biggest Patriots there are.

However, no one in this country falls to the level of suffering that they might if they were in said 3rd world country. So?
