Holmes 32 Boone County 29

This is NOT correct. You can slide the entire length of the floor and it not be traveling.

If Riley tripped and fell with posession of the ball then it is a traveling violation.

That would cause one heck of a floor burn wouldn't it???:D

Maybe because of height? Popp finished in the top 3 in NKY in steals despite not starting/playing much the last 10 games or so.

I have watched Popp play for a lot of years and have always liked his game. I have never thought of him as a defensive liability.

I know Boone loses some pretty talented seniors but they had pretty good JV & Frosh teams. With the returning starters do players like Montgomery or T Brown go past Popp in the rotation next year?

It just seems like Popp fell into disfavor with the coaching staff in a big hurry. Boone played well early in the season when he was in the rotation.

Don't think he was the best pure athlete on the floor, maybe second.

I'll stand by my belief but I would be curious to hear who you think would be the best pure athlete.

Unless something was said by him or someone else and it hurt his playing time. I agree that Boone was also doing very well with him in the rotation. He always seems to give it his all when he plays. Maybe the coaches just wanted to play the seniors more? It would be a shame if he didn't get to play much next year either.

I think Rico could make a legitimate argument about who was the best pure athlete on the floor.

I have always liked his game. I can recommend some great neighborhoods in Taylor Mill. Coach Carr has always had a soft spot for kids who can shoot!

He would have started on just about any other team in NKY IMO, except maybe Holmes.

Certainly would be in the discussion.

Your right, Coach Carr would always take another shooter.:thumb:

Certainly would be in the discussion.

Cotton is certainly a very good athlete though. He didn't rebound as well this time around but his defense on Rico was pretty impressive. Rico had to work hard for every point he got.

It seemed to me that after Cotton picked up 2 fouls in the first, Holmes did not seem to attack him, even after they left him in for a couple minutes. I think attacking him would have made a big difference in the game. Just curious why they did not seem to attack him while he stayed in the game with 2 fouls.

I heard that before the season was over Popp had already been looking into transferring next season. I think this was just a case of him getting beat out for the job. He's a very nice player and there are a number of schools he'd fit in well with. I think I heard one of his parents work in the Boone Co school system and he is looking to stay in a Boone Co school (Conner, Ryle, Cooper intertested?)

Great game.. congrats to the dawgs. Now lets take one back to the pound.

Very true he is one of the smoothest players I have seen in a while and the great thing is he will be back next year.
