I know the difference, and it was a terrible call.

Again, I can't comment on it because I didn't have a good view.

Why was it a terrible call in your opinion?

Also let me add, that I think they let them play all day and I have no problem with that. I thought, today, the officials did a pretty good job. And from then on they did well.

The old guy and the really young guy were very good officials.

Again, I can't comment on it because I didn't have a good view.

There was no intent to harm, the kid the foul was called on got a piece of the ball, clearly going for it.

And again, If Hensley agrees with me, makes me pretty confident I am right, I'd say he had a pretty good view of it and if he felt there was excessive force or intent on the play towards his guy, I sincerely doubt he'd say what he said about it.

In my opinion the New Cath players and coaching staff handled themselves very well today. A very gritty and hard nosed performance. If the Breds had hit a few more open bunnies and/or open 3's they might have walked away with the upset. I really enjoy how Rico and J.J. play the game and handle themselves on the court. They have fighter pilot demeanors. Very cool under pressure. It is fun to watch them play. I think the intentional foul call on Pittman's layup was the right call. That is the type of high energy, break away, bodies flying play that can get a player hurt. I am not a big fan of Pittman, but agree completely with the refs keeping the game under control for the safety of the players.

Maybe Coach Henley was only commenting on the "intent" part. As you know, Intent to harm is not the only criteria used for an intentional foul. He could clearly get a piece of the ball and still be called for an intentional by rule. #24 hitting the support was what caused that call.

And again if you go by the letter of the law, every foul called at the end of a game could be called intentional.

That was not an intentional foul. Besides you are alluding to him calling the foul on the trailer, it was called on the guy in front of him(or on his side, whichever). If there was a push, which there was not, he didn;t see it. The arms went up before the player even hit the support.

I have an unbiased look at the call. No way that should have been intentional. It was a hustle a play by the NCC players. Pittman was slowing up on the play because the outlet pass wasn't thrown far enough in front of him. Once he slowed up coming back to the ball it allowed the "full speed" NCC guys to collide with Pittman as he finally gathered the ball and tried to go up and dunk it.

No way that it was intentional. I don't think Pittman ever thought it was intentional. It was bad timing and switched the momentum some, but I don't think it was the reason that Holmes won today......

Also why doesn't Holmes press? No way NCC could have handled a full court press of the bulldogs.

Ricardo needs to just take over like he did today from start to finish. I have never understood why he doesn't dominate games more often, he is easily the most talented player on the floor.

Got to agree on the press comment. Thought NCC would have tried setting screens to get Connor open instead just that flare out top? NCC inside guys fought hard tonight. Holmes is just better.

Holmes doesn't really have the depth like they had last season to press. They only play 7 guys.

I'm pretty sure Pittman thought the foul was intentional. When he recovered his balance he reeled around toward the New Cath player and, for just an instant, glared as though he might retaliate. The crowd reacted and Elijah quickly regained his composure. He shook off the impact, walked to the line and sunk both free throws.

Holmes could probably go 8 or 9 deep if they had to heck they never need to!

I agree with everything you say here, even the bolded part.

I did get that feeling that Ricardo could have just taken over when he wanted to. I don't know if Henley is waiting on using some better schemes and pressing until the Regional Finals or the State Tourny, but it seems that he still has the chain on this team.

I feel like they could just bust out at any minute and dominate a game by 20 or so, but they haven't done that in quite some time. Even before the last Boone game that wasn't the case.

The defense has improved, but its not where it was at this time last year due to the loss of "the erasor".

you are sooooo correct on that comment! At any time those guys could explode on a team. They look like they stop attacking the rim and go thru the motions and then BOOM.....off they go!
