February 28, 200917 yr http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=3237 NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Matt Cassel has been traded to the Chiefs. The Boston Globe's Mike Reiss has confirmed the news, which is part of the trade sending Mike Vrabel West. There were rumors Cassel could be involved in a three-team swap, but it appears Kansas City will be his final destination. Compensation has not been announced, but it's safe to say the Tyler Thigpen era is over before it started.
February 28, 200917 yr So NE isn't on the hook for $14M for a backup and they did actually have a plan? Shocking to me.
February 28, 200917 yr Wow what a move by NE. Getting high round draft picks and Brady back and you saved money...
February 28, 200917 yr Brady's rehab must be coming along better than at first expected... That's all this means! If it wasn't he's still in NE.
February 28, 200917 yr This makes sense...Brady must be ready to play for next season. Commiting $29 million to 2 QB's seemed like a crazy move to me; I guess the Patriots agreed with me.
February 28, 200917 yr That's all this means! If it wasn't he's still in NE. It also means that they were smart ebough to not let him walk.

Now that is just too funny. We were telling you the whole time they did it to trade him. You thought they were going to pay him. They were only going to do that if Brady wasn't going to be ready. He obvioulsy was. QB's come back from ACL's way quicker than Brady will be coming back from his.
February 28, 200917 yr I wouldn't mind seeing Thigpen come over to the Titans. I would much rather have him than Young.
February 28, 200917 yr The Chiefs get Cassell and Vrabel for a second round pick; this seems like a great deal for them. To get two starters and one of them at QB for a number 2 is a really good move. Scott Pioli gets an A+ for this move, IMO.

There is talk that Peppers might be going to NE and getting rid of Vrabel seems to make sense. Also, I read the Pats didn't want the #3 overall b/c it would cost them too much to sign that pick. They also got a guaranteed $18M or so off the books. Looks good for both.
February 28, 200917 yr Thank goodness. We have needed a solid QB for the past 4 years, it's about time. Hopefully Cassel won't be a one hit wonder, hopefully he has a similar season as he did this year. KC needs to add another solid WR, help this kid out.
