You have a good point but on the other hand what is good for Coach Graham and what is good for Fleming may have been different things. From what I hear he is doing well at GRC, which is a better basketball school, and he may get a shot there. That is if they don't care about the certification.

Hire a young coach and stick by them for a few years and give them a chance to build something, just throwing out some names: Brad Riley, Nathan Sutton, Jeff Davis, Chad Mefford, Jay Fite, Eric Keeton, TJ Lykins, Seth Faulkner to name few, if they want a home grown guy, why not Lamont Taylor?

 

Please say your are kidding about Taylor..........I don't believe he has his certification either. If they didn't hire Robbie when Lake Kelly left, I really don't think they will hire Lamont.

Being a 16th region suportor, I guess I will put in my 2 cents.

You won't find a better person than Coach Graham. Fleming wouldn't hire him, if they had he would still be there, so if you wan't to complain, blame the Fleming system. What was he supposed to do, never go into coaching again? I would think not,so he moved to take another coaching job. Why are people complaing about a man doing what is best for him and his family. Some of the comemts on here just amaze me.

 

I really feel like this is where Fleming County's train came off the track. When Coach Kelly left and they didn't hire Robbie Graham, many people in FC were very upset about the situation. He went on to better himself and his family by moving to Winchester and coaching at GRC. I would really like to have seen what Robbie could have done with these last few groups, especially this middle school group that is coming up. FC administration made a HUGE mistake by not hiring him, in more ways than one. I think a lot of people are sitting back and enjoying the mess they (FC) are in now. You will not find a better person than Coach Graham. Fleming County let a good one get away.

I would completely throw out the names associated with Bracken County(Riley,Fite and Lykins), two of those should never have left Lewis County and will never again. Faulkner is true blue Royal and would probably take over as football or basketball coach when and if one of those ever leave. I do like Lamont Taylor, but feel the choice will probably come out of the 16th region.

I believe you have to have 60 credit hours to be eligible to be a head coach.

 

64 I believe is the number, but look for this crazy rule to be lifted. I believe it has already been voted on and the 64 credit hour number is no longer a must. I am sure we will be hearing more on the specifics later on down the road.

I heard from a reliable source that if contact was made, then Coach Davis would be interested in the job. He would be a great hire and would bring an exciting style of play to Fleming County.

 

Just a little info, Jeff Davis was an assistant at Russell when they won the 16th region title. He is now the head assistant at Simon Kenton high school under Trent Stiner. He has worked with the Derek Smith All-Stars the past two summers as a head coach of their 16U team. His dad is a longtime assistant at Fairveiw.

Why would a High School want to hire a Head Coach that is not Certified?? There is more to Coaching than just practice and play. A Head Coach needs to be with his team at all times. Just being with them in the Halls at school means so much, to a sports program.
