It is my understanding that Pendleton Co. will be looking for a new coach as Coach Elliot has retired.

I hear both Jessamine jobs are open, I know west is not an attractive job, however East might be.

Why is is not a good job???

It is not a job where you are going to win early, unless you take the schedule way down. Norman at high school and Rose at the middle school have been the first coaches to teach the girls anything. Too many players in the past have played lacking any fundementals. Besides that administration won't give a coach any time to build.

Thanks for the info. Administration as in central office , or high school?

Have there been any developments regarding the Butler coaching job? Is there actually an opening that has been posted or not? Since the initial Courier-Journal article about week ago, there has been nothing mentioned anywhere.

Silver Grove is looking for a new coach as they have told the man responsible for bringing back the girls program he is no longer welcome or wanted. Coach Kues was dedicated to those girls and really had them coming around. I believe he had everyone coming back from this past team and they were really excited about the upcoming season. It is a shame that the leaders of that school are threatened by anyone who excels and is well liked.

I wonder if his name will pop up for openings. Would Brossart take him back?

WOW what a surprise:idunno: Rumor had it that someone in the school wanted the position last season after the season had started and was making that known. The person that was interested was from a 9th region A school and let go for unknown reasons and while being a varsity coach has no where near the credentials of coach Kues. If the administration gave in due to someone being in the building that may not be as quailified but pushed for the job which I hope this is not the case, than shame on them!

A similiar thing was done to Steve Hart a number of years back, so this would not surprise me.

One thing is for sure, I was looking forward to my daughter playing for Coach Kues, but now NO WAY is she headed to the Grove. It is very obvious that the interest of the kids is not being placed first:madman:.

Brossart would be very lucky to get this man back, but as has been said before by many others, the AD has an opinion that just will not change, so don't look for them to come calling anytime soon.

Again I hope this is rumor, but if not good luck coach Kues and you will be missed by the parents and players at Silver Grove.

Does this mean that former Bellevue coach and current teacher at SG Bev Smith gets the job?

Sounds like the most probable answer. Why not add more duties to someone already on staff.

Are you saying this would be the best move for the program and most importantly the kids?? Someone on staff may not always be the best candidate. I guess if this is the answer than time will tell.

Not saying that at all. It would make sense for an established girls coach to take over the vacancy. If Coach Smith wanted to get back into it, she could hit the ground running. Being there for a year already, she would have to know some of the girls anyway. If that is not the best decision, that's fine. There are other programs around that still don't have a coach with summer camps and conditioning ready to start soon. Why make these girls as well.

I guess that is misunderstood your statement.

I will say that if this change has been made, I feel this is a very poor way to treat a coach that has well over 400 victories along with a small school state championship, and took the time to re-establish a program that nobody else wanted and was dead. As Coach Kues stated himself, "I did not come here to build my resume, but to do something that I have never done before and that is to build the program from the bottom up". A lot of time, effort and paitence went into rebuilding the program, to one now that is starting to get respect and for someone to come in and want the team after things not going well at another school for various reasons..... again to me all the wrong reasons to make the change. As for hitting the ground running..... you may want to ask the current parents and players about that? Living close to the area I know that only a certain few are happy if this change was made, and none of them are parents or players.

242 I will disagree. I have heard directly from players and parents that they were unhappy (moreso with one of the assistant coaches) but also Coach Kues. Many of the same issues that the well respected AD at Brossart had to deal with were surfacing at Silver Grove.

Now if you look back at my previous posts on this subject two months ago I am a huge Ray Kues fan but this was a rumor that was surfacing in April in another thread.........
