Billy is no where near as good as Joe B.

Or Sutton. Or Pitino. Or Tubby.

I just don't have a lot of confidence that this guy can handle a program as big as Kentucky. I think the pressure will eventually get to him.

And he's not shown me much as a coach so far, either. I'm not throwing him under the bus yet, but he has some shortcomings as the type of coach to represent UK, IMHO. Not just in some of the head scratching decisions he makes, but also his relationship with the media and the public. When he gives those silly halftime interviews and insults the interviewer, doesn't he realize that some of these games are seen all over the nation and young kids and future prospects are possibly watching. It's not a good way to make an impression.

 I just thought the "Is [insert name] the next [insert name]" threads are funny. I could have started "Is Billy G. the next Keith Richards" and would have got responses.

Thanks for putting the facts out for Joe B.

Look, Hall was a lot better coach than people give him credit for. He recruited well, was very successful in winning and advancing in the tourneys.

He was 22-9 in the NCAA tourney and had three other trips to the Elite 8. When the SEC tourney was revived in '79 he took the Cats to the Tourney Title game three other times and his '84 Squad was the first to win the SEC and the SEC tourney in the same year since it's revival.

I would like to see if anyone's stats following a heralded legend (like Rupp) stack up next to Hall's. Gene Bartow followed Wooden and only lasted 2 years. He was successful but not enough for fans and left. Same was true with Cunningham and Larry Brown that followed those guys.

We all know how well Dean's successors stayed and achieve until Roy.

Joe Hall was as interesting as dirt, but he did a good job.

I would take Joe Hall over all of his successors except for Rick.

Uh??? I picked the last thread of this type that I saw submitted (Howland, Sutton, Hall) to post on, imo BCG will be the current and next BCG :D.

I don't see the point at all.:idunno:
