PAPA PIGSKIN Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Anderson County returns 6 starters off of last years region championship team. They have to be favored to win it then Shelby, North Oldham, and Oldham will follow.
KY Baller Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Owen County will be a much improved team as they returned most of there starters. Last year they were young and unexperienced but i beleive they will the most improved team in the region. Lead by 4 great pitchers in Jordan Cox, Royce Neeley, Collin Gamble, and Brody Layton. I also have a feeling that Owen will really hit the ball well this year, led by Collin Gamble ( If he doesn't run track) and Matt Harris.
baseball4life Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Shelby will be better than people are expecting. When Shelby and Anderson get together it should be a good one. Just hope that Anderson does not try a beat the most runs in a game again when they play Eminence.
FootballisKing Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 South only has a handful of Seniors I think. There are several kids that have quit that need to come back. I believe that they will be fairly young. I have tried to ask around to see what the will have and how they expect to be but I have not received much response. They do have a very nice new complex!

Just hope that Anderson does not try a beat the most runs in a game again when they play Eminence. It is my understanding that the baseball coaches association and softball coaches association have gone to the KHSAA to request for a 4 class system in baseball. This would definitely solve a lot of these problems. In many cases, teams are winning by 20 and 30 runs and mostly because they only take 15 kids to a varsity game, which means limited subs, and the smaller schools run out of pitching and have to throw a middle school kid against a large school that is forced to play them because of district seeding. I witnessed one game that was 32-0 in 4 1/2 innings and the team that one played over 20 kids but the losing team threw an 8th grader 200 pitches and the 8th grader gave up 20+ walks. U tell me, what did either team get out of that.
baseball4life Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Eminence tried to quit and the umpires said no.

WarriorMom Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Eminence tried to quit and the umpires said no. I don't think that is correct! I was there.
CCHS_Dad Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 This is for the 2009 season, that was fully discussed in multiple threads last year. What is going to happen this year:popcorn::popcorn:
ColonelMike Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Eminence tried to quit and the umpires said no. Umpires have a lot of power, but they can't keep a team from walking off a field if that's really what they wanted to do. This can't possibly be accurate. ... but the losing team threw an 8th grader 200 pitches and the 8th grader gave up 20+ walks. If that's true, that coach needs to be banned from ever coaching baseball again!

Where are you getting your information, and just who was the supposed eighth grade student, Jordan Fairchild, threw a lot of pitches and he was a sophomore! Please be correct when you speak!! coachTT Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Simon Kenton will have 6 seniors returning, but only a few with much playing time. They will have a couple of pretty good pitchers that will probably be led by Tony Thornsburg and Ethan Ball along with Brent Hertzenberg. TJ Dawalt and Dirk Murray will lead the defense at third and SS. It should be an interesting season in the eighth.
Mr.Jones Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 :clap:The Eighth should be very interesting this year.
Mr. Diamond Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Would have to agree with your assessment at this time. Shelby has some very good young talent. Unproven though. It will be interesting to see how they develop this year. Clarkson's return should make a huge impact. I do like Owen and Simon Kenton as well.
