February 12, 200917 yr The wind has been nasty all day in EKY. I had to pull over twice on my way home from work because of it.
February 12, 200917 yr I was getting pushed in the other lanes when driving tonight as well. It was very scary. My kids are terrified, the keep asking me if the rocks are coming in our house. Its really loud out there. We had 2 pretty rainbows today on a positive note. Where is all this crazy weather coming from? We still have power, but our cable keeps going out.
February 12, 200917 yr Our power was out for an hour and a half tonight. But thankfully (for now), it's back on.
February 12, 200917 yr Lost the roof off of my deck. Thank goodness it landed close and didn't carry into neighbors house.
February 12, 200917 yr My Anemometer recorded gusts of up to 45.3 mph here, so I don't think we got the worst of it. Our electricity has flickered several times, but so far so good. I'll have to wait until daylight to see if there's any damage. I'm sure there will be some missing shingles, at the least.
February 12, 200917 yr We had some pretty nasty weather here in EKY. The rain did produce an awesome rainbow though. Here's a pic I took with my phone. February 12, 200917 yr The wind here blew a shudder (sp?) off of my apartment building and into my car. :irked: Luckily there wasn't much damage. I think the paint marks will buff out...
February 12, 200917 yr The wind flung my car door open and actually bent the hinges on the door when I was getting out. The end result is now the driver's side door won't close.
February 12, 200917 yr I was in Pikeville when the initial storm hit and I can tell you . . . it was AWFUL!!!! The wind was forcing our SUV all over the road. We even saw a huge motel sign pulled up out of its base enough to make it sit slanted!:scared: Then the rainbows came out!! The first one was probably the brightest I've ever seen. The second of the double wasn't as prominent but still pretty. The closer we got to Prestonsburg we could see beautiful blue skies again. Then the dark clouds took back over. There were tries/debris all over the road and the road was closed coming into Salyersville because a roof had been pulled off a house and was laying all over the road! CRAZY WEATHER!!!:isurrender:
