rockmom Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I just saw Dorothy, Toto, Flying Monkies, a Flying Pig, and Mary Poppins on my way home from work! There's a piece of what appears to be someone's roof in my back yard, and another piece of the same in my neighbor's yard, along with some siding. Interestingly, none of the debris is from either of our houses, nor any house nearby that we can tell. :idunno: My dog went out in the back yard to do his "business", and a gust knocked him over. I shouldn't laugh, but it was kind of funny. The expression on his face was a little more :ohbrother:.
Blue Magic Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009  The wind was crazy in Lexington today too. So was the weather. This morning it was warm, afternoon was cold, windy and rainy, and now it got a little warmer with cold wind. . I never know what to wear:ohbrother:.

I just wear my coat until May or June, and I figure I'm pretty sure to need it coming or going. I was a Girl Scout, I always prepare.
True blue (and gold) Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 This girl scout is without electricity again, RM....NOT fun. I am also NOT excited to survey the wind damage to my house...once it is light enough to see, that is.

I'm fairly certain it'll be gone before morning.

rockmom Posted February 11, 2009 Author Posted February 11, 2009 Aww...poor li'l buckaroo! "Toto, I don't think we're in Ft. Thomas anymore." I think he really misses Camp Fort Thomas. He hasn't been quite the same since returning.
big royal daddy Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Wife was coming home from Morehead where she works and swore that she was in a tornado. She pulled off the road and the wheels on one side of the van almost came off the ground.

Dlbdonn Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 He needs a Canine friend , Sounds like he misses BF'S Pooch .
RebelK Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 When I was driving home the wind was so strong it was almost moving my car into the other lane of traffic. It was kinda funny.....leaves were hitting my car so fast and hard I thought someone thought I was Bonnie and Clyde. It sounded just like gun shots.:lol::lol:
rockmom Posted February 12, 2009 Author Posted February 12, 2009 He needs a Canine friend , Sounds like he misses BF'S Pooch . He does, but he's REALLY picky about his canine friends. In fact, he's so picky, that I was so afraid he'd not stay at BF's house, because he wouldn't get along with their Casey. To date, there are exactly TWO dogs my Lucky has accepted as friends. One is named Milhouse, and moved to North Carolina. The other is Casey and lives in Fort Thomas. However, they both have a very similar quality...they are not aggressive. We had a beagle for a while I thought would be a perfect companion for Lucky. But, he was miserable. He wouldn't eat, slept on the couch, and generally hung out under "his" chair. This went on for as long as we had her. After I found her a new home, he was back to his old self. We may have to contact the Shamrock foundation and see if we can foster a dog, and maybe we'll be able to find one that Lucky can become friends with.
MBWC41 Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 We had some pretty nasty weather here in EKY. The rain did produce an awesome rainbow though. Here's a pic I took with my phone. The quality isn't the greatest and it really doesn't do it justice. It was huge and beautiful.

Or you could schedule regular playdates for them. ;-)
