Taylor Jones and Daylen Hall should be very strong at corner with Nick Sears at strong safety and Ben Kolb at free safety. Sears being the only returning starter might make you question this secondary, but with 2 strong fast corners in Jones and Hall could be lethal. Not to mention Jones had 2 interceptions in the Trinity playoff game. Look to see many interceptions next season by this whole secondary.

It's the time of year, I have watched this group of Sr.'s & Jr.'s the last 3 years and can all I can tell you that they will be very tough and I expect them to bring home the state title this year!

Agreed he is a big boy now, I have never seen a kid change his physical stature in 3 years as he has.

Sears switching from free safety to strong safety might change his interception numbers, but will also boost his tackles so it could even out. After what I saw in the Trinity playoff game Jones is a contender for 1st team all state also. If st.x would play the better player and not the senior this kid would have started as a junior.

That's what I am trying to figure out....X had a brilliant season last year, and ran into a buzzsaw against Trinity. I would look for more success than the opposite in the games to come in 2009.

I read this entire thread and I don't believe there has been one mention of Brian Buehner. He was exceptional last year in a backup QB role. He even played a great game at tailback at CovCath late in the year. Last year at this time no one mentioned QB Matt Brutscher as a finalist for Mr. Football in 2008.

Don't be surprised to see Brian mentioned as a possible finalist in 2009. His quickness and burst of speed, accurate passing, and total game knowledge remind me of his dad's abilities. Way back then the Courier-Journal named players of the decade and Rick Buehner was the player of the decade for the 1970's.
