At home tomorrow at 6pm vs. FC and at Henry Clay next Friday.

I'm looking forward to the Baby Bengals taking on the Bluebirds on 8/29. Should be a nice matchup.

The St. X. varsity looked very impressive against a very talented Fern Creek team tonight. Although a number of defensive starters did not play due to injuries, St. X. prevailed 7 TD's to 1.

 

There is a awful lot of speed on this team, and it was fully displayed tonight. Besides the four-headed dragon (Neal, Montano, McMurray, and Haden) at RB, QB Brian Buehner also broke for some long runs and looked very sharp throwing the ball. The OL looked like it was in mid-season form.

 

Defensively, the Tigers were swarming to the ball and raising havoc with the Fern Creek offense. I was really glad to see Bryan Hynes playing a lot of QB for Fern Creek, because he has a top-notch arm and scrambling ability, which really made the X-men stay on their toes.

 

Wyatt Gray was booming the ball deep into the end on his kickoffs. His only punt during the scrimmage was a high and very long spiral.

 

With this test behind them, the Tigers next scrimmage what may be the best 6A team out in the state, Henry Clay.

I heard something very interesting today and after just a little research, I found out it's true. Still hard to imagine, the 2009 St.Xavier Tiger Football Team will have THREE yes 3 defensive starters whose Fathers not only graduated from trinity but also played football there. Why would those t alumni choose St.X for their sons? Interesting, wonder when the Courier Journal finds out about that. Should be a good article.

There has been plenty of that go both ways. You speak as if no one from X ever sent their kids to Trinity.

Same reason a St. X alum would send his son to Trinity, b/c the family feels it's a better fit for their son.

Something tells me such a revelation would result in a paradox that would cause his skull to collapse. Thus I suggest we not try to break that to him, it is better for his long term health I suspect.

I am sure they are sensible parents who allow their young men to make the decisions that they think are best for them. In regards to life, you can't go wrong with Trinity or St. Xavier. Heck, my boss is a Trinity grad, whose son went to St. Xavier. He is now a great young man on academic scholarship to Kentucky....I can't say he made the wrong decision, unless you all think football is what makes the man.
