Top ten in all those polls and on the road I agree the Holmes loss is not as bad as alot of posters are making it out to be. Holmes flat out got beat by a very good team on the road.

No that isnt a bad loss, Boone Co is legit and you get them and Holmes on a neutral court and its pretty even.

I just noticed Seneca at 12th, I dont know? Check thier schedule they have played very good team and thier 9 losses were to Eastern, Ballardx2, Cov-Holmes, Trinity, Male, Manual, Apollo and Owensboro. Most of those losses were close with the largest margin 16 to Ballard, Holmes by 11 and everybody else single digits.

On the other hand thier best wins are South Laurel and North Hardin.

I'd have them ahead of Shelby at this point and time.

I agree Lion Mania! I've always been a believer in the ol' sayin that the bigger they are . . . the harder they fall.

 

I personally like it when Elliott is ranked lower because it takes the "target" off our backs.

Yeah I agree. I dont put much stock in any poll, I just like numbers and think there fun to play with. Polls dont declare a state champion and the lower Elliott is, the less they are targeted like you said. For fun my top five would be at this point:

1. Scott County

2. Holmes

3. Elliott

4. Eastern

5. JTown

 

I think Eastern is often over looked and not talked about much, but their record is great and I think they could do some damage in the state tourny. JTown is JTown but it depends on what team they bring to the game that decides their fate. I have seen them play great and not so great. Elliotts only loss to a top 20 team in the state is to Shelby Valley and it was only by 3. But a loss is a loss. I just believe that if they match up again in the second round of the state tourny, Elliott will have their number. Elliotts wins over Mason and Ballard has only made them better and they will be ready for whoever they play in the state Tourny. Holmes was beat by a very good Boone County and to me they are still number 2. Scott County is the leader of the pack right now and if anyone else is going to win the tourny, they are going to have to beat Scott County to do it.

I would have to disagree with this. Shelby Valley doesn't give Elliott matchup problems. What SV does do is control the tempo of the game which disoriented the Elliott Co. style of play. Elliott is a great team that is undeniable after the wins against Mason and Ballard this week.

 

I myself am an Elliott Co. alumni and have rooted for these boys since they were in grade school. I've watched them come up and now is their time to shine and all I can say is Boys shine on!
