Rowan at East Carter tomorrow night. Could be a good one.

East Carter got beat twice by Elliot and Rowan killed Elliot. Should be an easy win for Rowan.

What about #3 teams getting bat by 27 points? Manual dusted by Montgomery by 27!

Montogomery beat Manual by 23.

First of all, I will repeat: LCA is very good...possibly the best team in the state. With 3 D 1"s, they are obviously talented. Since everone on here is speculating, let me speculate that no team in the great state of KY could have beaten them on that night. Secondly, for the insightful poster that wondered whether RC can guard...REALLY? Also, I don't recall anyone from Morehead saying RC was # 1 in the state, and I can tell you they are not caught up in that stuff. They play hard and do the best they can. As far as the schedule goes, Rowan is locked into 9 games per year as a member of the EKC. That's why they try to beef up the schedule as much as possible. You can debate Boone Co. and Notre Dame as being up or down, but traditionally they are a power, so when RC went up there, both were highly thought of. And I do believe Boone Co. was at full strength at that point. As far as the rest of the region learning something and maybe having a different outcome....maybe. It certainly is possible. But, maybe RC learned something too. Listen, you can debate whether RC is any good or not. Those girls certainly don't have a vote when it comes time to rank the teams, so don't bash them for playing hard and trying to win every game. They just play as hard as they can every night. Just don't take away from what they have done to this point, and don't call them names. They are still young ladies who play the game the right way, and before you start bashing them, maybe you should give a little credit to a very good team; maybe the best team in the state. (And by the way, LCA got drilled by 23 by Notre Dame...means they can't be top 10, right?)

I would be surprised to see Manual in the next top 10 as a result. Unfortunately for Rowan, this further erodes pollster support for them in the top 10 as their win over Manual - a superb team, IMO, and a great win for the Lady Vikes - is their signature victory.

I think one thing everyone has to realize is this: when LCA's big three are on, they are arguably the very best team in the state - perhaps by a significant margin. So losing to them by several points is understandable - by any team.

I expect Rowan to show up somewhere around #15-#17 in the next BGP poll.

Great post!:ylsuper:

I was at this game on Friday night and the point is, Rowan Co. couldn't guard the big 3, especially Martin and Clifton. It is what it is, had nothing to do with effort. Everyone keeps focusing on the great shooting, I'd be more concerned with the rebounding and the turnovers. It's hard to beat the better teams in the state when you don't hold your own in those areas. When you're a top ten team or have been labeled that and something like this happens, then you have to understand there will come criticism, it's only natural. Has nothing to do with picking on anyone. You don't think people won't be critical of Manual after that lost to Montgomery Co.? You don't think people were critical of LCA earlier in the year before their recent string of success? I would bet some people were surprised with NCC playing LCA so tough in the All "A" but I saw them at the Lex. Cath. tournament and they can be physical and are well coach. So to my point, some teams improve, some teams fall off as expectations change throughout a long season. Rowan Co. was having a great race and then had a flat tire, can they fix that flat or do they stay stuck out on the road? It will be interesting how they respond on Friday against Montgomery Co. because that is potentially another matchup problem game for them.:idunno:
