Lexington Christian 91 Rowan County 57

Rowan Co. showed to be a victim of their enviornment. Not much competition in region and they don't match up with teams with size and don't turn the ball over. They were out classed in this matchup for sure. Outstanding performance by Martin and Clifton. These 2 teams could play 10 times and don't think Rowan Co. could beat them. May not be the same margin but I just don't think they could beat them in my opinion! It was over early.:deadhorse:

Rowan Co. has had their way with the 16th. But I believe there are a couple of teams in the 16th that have learned from their first meeting with Rowan. It is possible that there could be a different outcome the next time.:D

Rowan is no means a top 10 team. Maybe 15-20, but no higher. The win vs Manual was a good win, but if they play 10 times Manual wins 9 times.

I agree that this was a major butt kicking. But there have been some major declarations made here, based upon one regular season game! If the stats quoted here are correct, 15 of 22 from beyond the arc. Who could stay with any team in this one.

By the way, excellent game by Lex Christian!

Declarations are fact based! Rowan Co. biggest win was against Manual at home. A great win no doubt regardless if they played them on the moon or anywhere's else. The Notre Dame and Boone Co. wins were good and on the road but those teams were not at full strength at the time. Now, as for competition in region, Elliott Co. is probably considered along with Ashland as possible top contenders and but are not top 25 caliber teams. So that being said, Rowan Co. is an excellent team but not in the discussion with the top 10 teams in the state from what I've seen of the teams in the state. Iroquois, Christian Academy of Louisville, Montgomery Co., E-town, Mercy, Sacred Heart, Lex. Christian, Manual, N. Hardin, Franklin-Simpson, Henderson Co. are teams that have been tested numerous times that have proven themselves. Rowan Co. is probably on that next tier with teams like Notre Dame, New Cath., Bowling Green, Marshall Co., Butler, Lafayette, Simon Kenton, Rockcastle Co., Lincoln Co., Marion Co., Webster Co. and Christian Co. Not a bad group to be in but I think that a lot of fans where getting ahead of themselves with such lofty praise. Take it for what it's worth and prove me and those other doubters wrong but I've seen a lot of basketball this season and it's gonna be hard for Rowan Co. without size to win against some of those I mentioned in the first group because of personnel. I wish all teams the best in their quest for the title but I try to remain realistic too!

If the statements had said that this proves Rowan is not a top ten team, how would I argue? But, the language being used, (pretenders) would most likely be interpreted far far away from the top ten, maybe far from the top 100, who knows!

All views and opinions are subjective and on any given night a team can pull a surprise but there are only a few teams in my mind that can put together a 4 game stretch at Diddle to take home the title. Usually the Louisville and Lexington region representatives have the edge because of the level of competition they see during the year. It's no fault of Rowan Co. that the competion within the region is what it is but they just have needed to test themselves more outside of the region more. I went and looked at a team like Montgomery Co. and they have only played the teams in their district so far and no one else in their region. I'm assuming that is by design because their aren't any teams in the 10th that are condsider to be contenders on the state scene. It would probably be a detriment and a fasle sense of security and I'm afraid that is what might happen to Rowan Co. A great season nonetheless to all the Lady Vikings fans and all you can do is keep playing the games in front of you.

Sounds like a dominating performance by Montgomery Co tonight against Manual (final score 69-46)

Rowan County was obviously exposed as a fraud. They will probably win their weak region, but could not compete in Louisville or Lexington. If LCA keeps playing this way, they will be tough to beat in March.

Poor choice of words Chardice. Especially seeing how this is a public forum which could easily be seen by these young ladies. A little more class would be appreciated when talkin bout us weak 16th regioners!!

I believe the downslide of overall competition of the boys 16th region has become assumed for the girls as well. This does not seem to be the case to me however, just that some of the typical powers are down a little, but not the region as a whole.

We are what we are here in the 16th, and overall that's average at best. However, I think it would be more respectful and appropriate for some users to choose their words and phrasing a little more carefully (Take the harsher, trash talking tone back to the boys side:sssh:!

Count me in among the bunch that was ready to vote the Lady Vikings into the top 10...my assessment, unfortunately, was from afar, as I haven't had the privilege of seeing Rowan this year, but could only review their games in the paper and in forums such as this...still...they looked pretty good to me, particularly after the wins over Manual, Boone, and Notre Dame, and with that big goose-egg in the loss column.

Looks like I was fooled as well as many others...Rowan is undoubtedly one of the better teams in the state, and probably worthy of being in the top 20, but a team with aspirations of being in the top ten doesn't lose by 37 to another top 10 team... Still, one heck of a season for RC, and they have some more games to redeem themselves in! None of these games matter come tournament time...

For LCA, a VERY IMPRESSIVE OUTING... congrats!

Great win for LC. Keep your chin up RC. You are bad to the bone.
