This is exactly what I meant about this becoming more and more the normal way of doing business! You end up with some SUPER TEAMS and a few good regular teams

We are not getting off topic and this discussion is OK. But, what I don't understand is how can transfers be a problem for one school, but transfers, for any reason, at another school are "different". a transfer, is a transfer, is a transfer. It doesn't matter if a kid was in school at one school, transferred, then transferred back, it is still a transfer. You can't say that this schools transfers are one way, but this schools transfers are not the same way.

 

And, I have no problem with players transferring so long as all the rules are followed.

 

Exactly. Everyone wants to point a finger at 1 school and turn a blind eye to everyone else. Scott Co. got 2 transfers in the late 90s and recently got a bunch of transfers, but from 98 to 07 I can't think of any transfers. So if a program doesn't get any for a decade I don't see how some are saying they get transfers every other year when thats inaccurate.

No argument there, but it makes a lot of people wonder if something is afoot when a program loses some players and there is a "down" class coming up ... and presto, three Division I prospects transfer in with a few others joining the flock.

0 transfers and I would say they are atleast Top 20 in the state not to mention a FOOTBALL school

All schools get transfers, but because basketball has become so important to this state becuase of web sites like this, UK and UL, and the sport in general it has evolved into something bigger than "an extracirricular activity". What makes Scott Co. such a great school over Lex.Cath., Holmes, Bryan Station, Mason Co., or a whole slew of others. Do they have superior educators than other schools, is their AAU program better than all the rest, their facillites are nice but there are others nicer or as nice, they have good coach-but other programs do to. They have Toyota and a few other places to work at, but so does Covington, Louisville, Lexington and even Maysville has few places to work. So the question has to be asked "Why is Scott Co. getting transfers or getting an unusual amount of transfers?" I am not complaining, just trying to understand the situation. :confused:

Every school you mentioned got atleast 1 transfer in the past 2 years wh is a very good basketball player. Its happening all over. Scott Co. has just had more of them in the last couple years. IMO beating Huntington 2 years ago, a team with OJ Mayo and Patrick Patterson along with that team going undefeated in Kentucky and winning a state title has really generated a lot of excitement around the program. Think about it. No transfers (that I can think of anyways) over a 9 or 10 year span and then all of a sudden several kds transfer. Also I think something else that has created more excitement is moving into the 11th region and thus recieving more media attention as well. Thats a theory anyways.

That argument might fly if the transfers were unrelated to each other. It's clear, however, that the Euton-Jackson-Flannery-Barber moves were not, given the obvious connection and friendship between the kids and their families.

I haven't accused them of anything, either, and I'm not sure anyone in this thread has.

There was a player at Elliott Co. last year who transferred from Scott Co. and I believe 1 who was a good player at Harrison Co.
