JJ barely played JV his freshman year and Rico started JV and came off the bench some at the varsity level. Both were also originally at Holmes..much different than any other transfer you just named.

But, what I don't understand is how can transfers be a problem for one school, but transfers, for any reason, at another school are "different". a transfer, is a transfer, is a transfer. It doesn't matter if a kid was in school at one school, transferred, then transferred back, it is still a transfer. You can't say that this schools transfers are one way, but this schools transfers are not the same way.

 

And, I have no problem with players transferring so long as all the rules are followed.

Here is a question for people, which teams in the state do not have a single transfer on their basketball, baseball, football, or academic teams? I'll be waiting.

I personally have no problem with kids transferring either, as long as the rules are followed. The reason a lot of people look at Scott Co the way they do though, is that they regularly get transfers when they're supposed to have "down" years with "homegrown" talent. When you get 3 D1 transfers in a year's span, who all three had recently played AAU together, it's naturally going to lead to some speculation and people will question that program.

 

I'm not insinuating that SC did anything wrong, because obviously the KHSAA ruled all the players eligible...but just saying, it makes people wonder what's really going on.

My question is why more schools are not boycotting Scott County in the same manner they boycott other schools?

 

Because Scott County is public as well. People think that the private schools have a tremendous advantage because so many people love paying thousands of dollars a year for an education already paid for by their taxes

Scott County's Freshman record from 2006-2007 was about 18-2. They traveled to South Carolina also. That team did not include Guyn, Jackson, Euton, or Fannery. Only about 3 kids on that team are playing on the team right now with Willoughby, Schu, and Mastin.

A few quit for different reasons: grades, problems off the court, and yes Eta some quit because of realization of a lack of possible playing time caused my new students that came in. If the students hadn't transferred to SC, they would still have a very good team. Maybe not top 5 or top 10 but would still be a top team in the 11th. They had 4 of their starter’s that year quit either after that year or after this past season. With 3 years with a group of players that didn't lose a game to any Kentucky team they played as Frosh, I would imagine Coach Hicks could turn them into regional contenders.
