Zach Montgomery transferred to Lafayette and was the leading scorer in lexington and in the same class Lance Snowden transferred out to Lexington Catholic. The fact is that Scott County is a great location and the entire community backs them. It has a decent education system and great coaches. Look at Gelawn's jump shot and defense compared to last year. He is a completely different player. Scott County is on television more than any other team in the state and has played the number one team in the nation 3 years in a row. People have to realize that families don't just pack up and move for their kids to play ball. The families had a reason to move and I'm sure everyone can agree that if your son was good at basketball and you were moving you would want your son to play with and for the best in the state. I understand that it doesn't seem fair but I also don't think it is fair to trash a program and kids when they have done nothing wrong. Billy Hicks and his players work just as hard or harder than any program in the state and to make false accusations and trash families is poor taste in my opinion.

I will stand by my assertion that Scott County has had more talent transfer in than transfer out.

Who is making false accusations? Who is trashing families?

No argument there, but it makes a lot of people wonder if something is afoot when a program loses some players and there is a "down" class coming up ... and presto, three Division I prospects transfer in with a few others joining the flock.

There was a player at Elliott Co. last year who transferred from Scott Co. and I believe 1 who was a good player at Harrison Co.

Exactly. Everyone wants to point a finger at 1 school and turn a blind eye to everyone else. Scott Co. got 2 transfers in the late 90s and recently got a bunch of transfers, but from 98 to 07 I can't think of any transfers. So if a program doesn't get any for a decade I don't see how some are saying they get transfers every other year when thats inaccurate.

Fields went to 4 or 5 different high schools. I don't believe he ever played anywhere besides Harlan City. I think he went to University Heights, Scott Co, and somewhere else. It was a shame. He was a very nice player. I am not familiar with Joe Siler.

Again, JJ and Rico were originally at Holmes and came back to their original school..much different than any other scenario mentioned.

 

Housely is a different story and a case can be made against him.

Scott Co is pinpointed though because how many other schools currently have 7 transfers on their roster..with them all coming in over the past 2 years?
