Most of the best teams in the state? Are you serious? Show me a team in the Top 15 that has kids in their starting lineup that live outside the borders?

 

Scott Co brought the attention to themselves and have a track record for bringing in the top players dating back to the Rick Jones days. Give me a break.

I think Scott County is unfairly singled out when it comes to transfers. Most of the best teams in the state are beefed up with talent from outside their borders! It seems to be a trend that will only grow with success of teams like Scott County. Unfortunatly to compete you you must do what it takes!

Scott Co currently has 6 transfers on their team which is the reason for a lot of their success. Name one other team around the state that has more than one and has received more than one "big" transfer over the past few years?

 

To answer the question, without these transfers, Scott Co isn't even a top 15 team, and honestly, even with all the transfers, they still may not be the best team in the state.

Bottom line is they wouldn't be the #2 team in the state. They would be a good team as they are very well coached. Euton and Jackson were legitimately developed players before they arrived at Scott County. Euton already had a D1 offer in the bag and Jackson was already pegged as a high D1 player.

 

Obviously it is a testament to the quality of their program that kids with very good basketball skills from outside Scott County wanting to play for the Cardinals, but in my opinion I think it is arrogant for folks to make statements that Scott County "develops players better than anyone in the state" with the high number of transfers moving in recently.

My point was....you don't see other programs receiving transfers every other year just to stay competitive. Scott Co is under a lot of scrutiny from around the state because it's not like this is a once in a while thing...these kids are coming in every other year and when they do, they're receiving high profile transfers. Also when looking at the circumstances at which their transfers come in, you'll find them much different than ANY of the other teams you mentioned in your post.

My question is why more schools are not boycotting Scott County in the same manner they boycott other schools?

Holmes, Housley transfered from Holy Cross to Newport and now is at Holmes (he's transfered twice in his 4 year high school career) The Johnson brothers, Ricardo and Jerimiah, they both played at Cincinnati Taft their freshman year and transfered to Holmes their sophomore year. Doesn't matter how it happened, the fact is they transfered in after playing at Taft their freshman year.

 

Clark Co., Zolo transfered in (current UK recruit), Rogers transfered in from Fleming Co., Brewer transfered in from Powell Co.

 

Hazard, Whitaker and Warren transfered in from Bell Co., Back transfered in from Perry Central

 

That's just a few, and there are plenty more out there, like J-town, Mason Co. Shelby Valley, Elliott Co., Trinity, Lex Cath., etc.

JJ barely played JV his freshman year and Rico started JV and came off the bench some at the varsity level. Both were also originally at Holmes..much different than any other transfer you just named.

So, only the transfers that are good, count?
