Tony Franklin hired at MTSU

Penn has more credibility when discussing this topic more than anyone in the topic...believe it!
That may be so, but his obvious personal dislike for Franklin appears to color his assessment of the situation.

I'll take that bet.

I don't. We will just have to leave it at that.

Typical Franklin. MTSU is in the same conference as Troy, where Franklin was two years ago. I think it shows a lot about Franklin, going back to the same conference as the team/coach (Troy/Blakeny) that really gave Franklin his big break to get back into college coaching.

Typical coach, wanting to work????

What happened at Auburn?? He went 5-2!! They won one game after he was fired and that was against UT-martin. Sounds like something was working! I think that is the one stat that matters.

Texas Tech, do they not have any success?

When did Franklin coach at TT?:idunno:

Same system. at TT.

It's not the "Tony Franklin" system, the topic is Franklin coaching not the spread in a generalization...

What's the difference bwtween the Tony Franklin System and what Texas Tech runs?

The difference is what the topic is about, the coach. What aren't people understanding when it's been repeated several times in this thread that the problem is Franklin.:deadhorse:

And what, in your opinion, is the problem with Franklin?

One of my buddies played for him in HS and does not have good things to say and I'll leave it at that. I could care less about the guy honestly, just pointing out that with him coaching in college aside from Mid-Major IE Troy, his system doesn't work.

Agreed!

I'm curious as to what your buddy said about him ... seriously.

Let's see ... his system worked at Troy, and then he didn't really have much of a chance to implement his system at Auburn.

Not to mention that his system is similar to the Mumme-Leach systems that we know has had success.

It seems that some people let their personal opinions about Franklin get in the way of their assessment of his system.
