Kiffin accuses Meyer of breaking the rules

Featured Replies

If I was in Lane's shoes I would do the same thing. Why not call out Fla who has won 2 titles in the last 3 years. He might be cocky but that is what Tenn needed. Fla might hand it to them next year but I'm telling you watch out for them in the next few years. If he can have a top 20 recruiting class when he hasn't been there that long what do you think he will do when he is there for a whole season?

He didn't have a Top 20 class. They were ranked 23rd which was good enough for 10th out of 12 in the SEC. As for who could finish ahead of them in the SEC East next season besides UF and UGA? USC, UK and Vandy all have as much returning as UT. It could be a long year in Knoxville again next season. This doesn't look like a 1 or 2 season rebuilding job at this point.

After the signing of the 5* CB, Janzen Jackson out of Louisiana, on Thursday, the ranking went up to 17 on Rivals - still not a ranking that will put fear into Florida or Alabama yet. However, gnats have a way of pestering the life out of ya :D

I was hoping there might be a picture of the vol coachs's wife.

What kind of name is Urban anyway?

The guy was joking.

Urban Meyer is named for a pope named Urban. Am a Gator fan and no matter what this coach is called he is a very good coach.

Uk won't beat them. I doubt South Carolina will beat them as well. UT will surprise people next year.

The ESPN rankings have them at like 15. Their (espn) rankings are actually better as they consider only the quality of the recruiting class. Scout and Rivals have a point scale that takes in quality and quantity. So teams that sign a boatload of players get ranked higher than they should. UNC was number two on scout for a while with Ohio State number 1. I think anyone who has watched much about the players in question knows that the top classes where LSU, Bama, and USC in whatever order. Tennesse had a pretty good class without signing a QB, which they let Tahj Boyd walk because they want a pro-style passer.

That said, UT will get beat as bad as Urban can beat them. IF they took out a talented Georgia team by nearly 40, I think they might beat Tennessee by 70. Tennessee will no doubt get better, but it's not going to be a quick fix in running a pro-style offense and the Tampa 2 defense.

On that comment we can most definitely agree!! It will not happen overnight or even in 1 or 2 years.

I still think this is a very risky hire by Tennessee.

I hope it doesnt turn out.

Sc will finish higher than UT in the East.

I've been told Kiffen basically tried to set Meyer up by having someone get word to Meyer that the kid actually wasn't at Tennessee. Kiffen better be as good as he thinks he is, or he's in for a long bumpy ride.

I also heard something very similar to this. That Meyer was told he wasn't at UT because of some sort of conflict, thus the call was made.
