Murray State: 1998 vs. Rhode Island - Oklahoma City, first round of NCAA tournament. Murray gets a #9 seed, and deservingly so with their #25 ranking. They came out of the gate up something like 11-3 . From that point forward, Tyson Wheeler, Cuttino Mobley, and Antonio Reynolds Dean backhanded the Racers. I think they outscored Murray 41-13 the rest of the half. I remember Wheeler hitting a half court shot to end the half. I am not sure how much they ended up winning by, I would say 25 or so. Sadly I flew out to see this game.

 

UK: The Kansas and IU games from a couple of seasons ago were pretty brutal. Last year at Vandy did not even seem real because UK had already beat them. While Vandy was better, no person felt they were really 40 pts better. Kansas and IU you felt like they were just superior and beat down UK. I think Vandy would have beaten the Lakers that night. They drained every shot at the start of the game and UK missed everything to get in such a deep hole and it just got worse.

When UK lost to Vandy last year at Vandy. I do not remember the score, but it was around 40.

The Kansas/UK game a couple of years ago was pretty doggone bad. There are many games I've seen lately where it felt like I was suffocating.

Did we lose to Auburn on Sr. Night in the late 80's once? I may be mistaken, but that one sticks out in my mind.

 

I can remember one game against Auburn in Rupp when a Tiger/War Eagle (Persons?) threw up a last second three that went completely in the basket and then somehow flew back out and UK won. That may have been a senior night game.

UK didn't lose a Senior Night game from '62 till '97.

 

The Auburn game you might be thinking of was when we were #1 in '88 and lost on a John Caylor jumper. Chapman's last year along with Winston Bennett and Ed Davender.

I thought it was the UK/Kansas game from a few years back. When Dick Vitale kept saying "oh this is not KY talent." Millions of Kentuckians wept hearing that.
